BRASILE SUD
Londrina-Conjuntos, parrocchia Cristo Operaio: dal 26 al 28 si è tenuto il secondo incontro della Juventude Missionária Xaveriana (JUMIX) sul tema “Beati i misericordiosi perchè troveranno misericordia”. Presenti più di 200 giovani, provenienti dalle parrocchie ‘saveriane’.
REPUBBLICA DEMOCRATICA CONGO
Kinshasa, 29.08.16: apertura del Postulato. Per i candidati di Africa è la prima esperienza di un anno formale di Postulato nella stessa comunità del Noviziato.
Quest’ anno gli 11 candidati provenienti da RDCongo (5), Camerun-Ciad (2), Burundi (3) e Sierra Leone (1) faranno il Postulato e, il prossimo anno, il Noviziato.
In questo periodo di fine estate in Kivu non ci sono le feste patronali e le tipiche sagre ‘europee’. Si festeggiano invece solennemente le Prime Professioni di Suore: quattro delle suore della Misericordia, quattro delle Carme-litane, sei delle Dorotee di Cemmo, tre della Santa Famiglia e le Missionarie di Maria, le Saveriane.
Ancora più solenni le ordinazioni presbiterali in cattedrale, con l’arcivescovo, autorità e un popolo numeroso.
Sono feste grandiose, commoventi, preparate con cura, con canti, con discorsi e… che domandano, a volte, una buona riserva di pazienza per coloro che non sono abituati ai tempi lunghi.

GENERAL DIRECTION
Rome: The General Direction will meet from August 29 to Sept. 13. On September 1 and 2 the General Council meet with the Provincial Council of Italy at St. Peter in Vincoli – Ravenna.
ORDINATIONS
Ancona: Deacon Diego Pirani will be ordained Priest on September 3, by Card. Edoardo Menichelli, Arch. of Ancona-Osimo.
SOUTH BRASIL
Londrina: The second Xaverian Missionary Youth Encounter (JUMIX) took place in the parish of Christ Worker. The theme was: “Blessed are the merciful, because they will find mercy”. Over 200 youth were present, coming from the various Xaverian parishes.
DEMOCARTIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Kinshasa: Aug. 29 2016: Beginning of postulancy. For the candidates from Africa this is the first experience of a year of formal Postulancy in the same House of the Novitiate. This year there are eleven candidates: five from RDCongo, two from Cameroun-Chad, two from Burundi, and one from Sierra Leon. This is the year of Postulancy; then will follow the Novitiate.
During this summer season there will not be any patronal feasts or celebrations, somewhat similar to the Italian ‘sagre’, in the Kivu area, We will solemnly celebrate the First Religious Profession of Sisters: 4 of the Sisters of Mercy, 4 of the Carmelite Sisters, 6 of the Dorothean Sisters of Cemmo, 3 of the Sacred Family, and the Professed Sisters of the Missionaries of Mary, the Xaverian Sisters.
Even more solemnly, we will celebrate the Presbyteral Ordinations by the Archbishop in the Cathydral, with the presence of numerous civil authorities and the people. These are grandiose, moving, prepared with exquisite care Feasts. There will be all sorts of songs, hymns, dances, sermons, homilies. Those who are not used to them, may need to have a good supply of patience.
