Salute del P. Generale. Informazione del P. Vicario generale: “Cari Confratelli, al momento non ci sono molti elementi nuovi rispetto a quanto già riferito. In questa settimana si sono seguite analisi, radiografie ed esami vari ma i medici ancora non si pronunciano.
P. Luigi affronta la situazione con pazienza e con fede. Saluta tutti.
Continuiamo a ricordarlo nelle nostre preghiere”.
P. Antonio López in Africa. Visita alla Teologia di Yaoundé dal 15 al 2 ottobre.
Dal 19 al 24 sett.. P. Vicario sarà in Spagna per l’annuale assemblea della Circoscrizione.

Abaetetuba, sabato 27 agosto: per l’ordinazione presbiterale di Ivanildo de Sousa Quaresma la Cattedrale era colma di gente festante venuta da diverse parti, anche da Saõ Paulo.
La liturgia ha ben espresso il desiderio e la gioia di tutti di ringraziare Dio per il dono del ministero e la disponibilità a servire il Regno e la sua manife-stazione in tutto il mondo.
La celebrazione è stata preceduta da una intensa settimana di animazione missionaria condotta dai Novizi saveriani, con il loro Maestro P. Alfiero Ceresoli.
ITALIA
Villaverla-Vicenza, 11 settembre: celebrati solennemente gli 80 anni di vita religiosa di P. Giuseppe Rabito. Presente per la DG P. Antonio López.
SIERRA LEONE
Makeni, 5 – 10 sett: i presbiteri diocesani hanno fatto gli esercizi annuali, guidati da P. Louis Birabaluge, sulle qualità umane e spirituali dei ministri di Dio, seguendo le Lettere paoline a Timoteo e Tito.
Gli esercitandi e il predicatore hanno dichiarato che è stata una buona esperienza considerare la vita dei presbiteri dal punto di vista di un altro angolo dell’Africa e da un saveriano.
REPUBBLICA DEMOCRATICA DEL CONGO
I giovani presenti nelle comunità della Regione all’inizio del nuovo anno.
A Kinshasa (Postulato): 11 candidati pro-venienti dalla Sierra Leone (1), dal Burundi (3), dal Camerun (2) e dalla R.D.Congo (5).
A Vamaro (Filosofia): 29 giovani che arrive-ranno il 22 settembre. La scuola inizierà il 3 ottobre.
A Panzi (Propedeutica): 17 che entreranno il 28 settembre.
DEFUNTI
A Zapopan (Messico), il 14 settembre 2016, è mancato P. Tiberio Munari. Aveva 96 anni compiuti.
Il funerale è stato celebrato nella cappella della Filosofia il 15 sett. È stato sepolto nella tomba della famiglia Saveriana nel cimitero Parque Funeral Colonias.

PHYSICAL HEALTH OF FR. LUIGI MENEGAZZO. From Fr. Mario Mula, Vicar General: “Dear Confreres, at this moment there is nothing we could add to all we have allready announced. In this week there were additional tests, exams, etc. The doctors have not made any announcements. Fr. Luigi Menegazzo is living this moment with serenety, patience and faith.
He greets everybody.
Let us continue to remember Fr. Luigi Menegazzo in our prayers.
”From Sept, 15 to Oct. 2, Fr. Antonio Lopez will be in Africa, visiting the Theology of Yaoundè.

NORTH BRAZIL
Abaetetuba: August 27: On the occasion of the Priestly Ordination of Fr. Ivanildo de Sousa Quaresma, the Cathedral was filled with all kinds of joyful people, coming from various parts of the country, even from San Paolo. The celebration of the Liturgy espressed well the joy of all, their gratitude to God for the gift of ministry and the personal availability in the service of the Kingdom present in the whole wide world.
The celebration was prepared by a whole week of intense misssion education and formation conducted by the Xaverian Novices and their Master, Fr. Alfiero Ceresoli.
ITALY
Villaverla – Vicenza: Fr. Giuseppe Rabito, on Sept. 11, celebrated the 80 Anniversary of his Religious Profession. Fr. Antonio Lopez was present, representing the whole General Direction.
SIERRA LEON.
Makeni: From Sept. 5 to 10, The Diocesan Priests were helped in their Annual Spiritual Exercises by Fr. Louis Birabaluge, SX. He reflected on the human and spiritual qualities necessary for the ministers of God, following the inspirations and suggestions given by St. Paul in his Letters to Timothy and Titus.
Fr. Louis Birabaluge and all those who participated declared their appreciation for the enlightenement given and for the Xaverian viewpoint of ordained ministry and of Africa.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
This year Candidates, present at the beginning of this school year:
Kinshasa: (Postulancy): 11 Candidates, from whom 1 is from Sierra Leon; 3 from Burundi; 2 from Cameroun; and 5 from R:D:Congo.
Vamaro: (Philosophy): There are 29 Candidates and they will be arriving on Sept. 22. Classes will begin on Oct. 3.
DECEASED
Fr. Tiberio Munari returned to the Father on Sept. 14 – 2016 in Zapopan – Mexico. He was 96 years old.
The funeral was celebrated in the Chapel of the House of Philosophy in Guadalajara on Sept. 15. He was buried in the family tomb of the Xaverians in Parque Funeral Colonias Cemetery.
