Il Superiore Generale, p. Fernando García Rodríguez sx, ha partecipato alla 97ª Assemblea dell’Unione Superiori Generali (USG), tenuta a Sacrofano, Roma, presso la Fraterna Domus. Il tema dell’incontro è stato “Sinodalità e missione”.

La mattina del primo giorno è stata dedicata alla riflessione e alla condivisione della missione della vita consacrata in un mondo post-pandemico con l’intervento di Austen Ivereigh, giornalista e autore del libro insieme con Papa Francesco “Soñemos juntos: el camino a un futuro mejor”. Nel pomeriggio dello stesso giorno i partecipanti si sono confrontati con la sinodalità vissuta dall’Assemblea Ecclesiale Latino-Americana, con la relazione di Mauricio López, coordinatore del Centro di programmi, reti e azione pastorale del Consiglio Episcopale Latinoamericano (CELAM).

Il 26 maggio si è lavorato sui risultati della consultazione dei Consigli generali sul Sinodo, con la presenza di due membri della Commissione per preparare la sintesi dei contributi di USG e UISG (Unione internazionale superiori generali); il lavoro è proseguito nel pomeriggio in diversi gruppi secondo le aree di interesse. Infine, la mattina del 27 maggio è stata dedicata all’ascolto reciproco per definire le principali linee d’azione dell’USG per il triennio 2022-2024.

The Superior General, Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x., participated in the 97^th Assembly of the Superior Generals (USG) which was held in Rome (Sacrofano) at Fraterna Domus. Theme of the meeting was “Synodality and Mission”.

The morning of the first day was dedicated to reflection and sharing on the mission of consecrated life in a post-pandemic world. Invited speaker was Austen Ivereigh, journalist and co-author with pope Francis of “Soñemos juntos: el camino a un futuro major.” In the afternoon, participants were introduced to the way synodality is lived in the Latin-American Ecclesial Assembly through a report by Mauricio López, coordinator of the Centre for Programmes, Networks and Pastoral Action of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM).

On May 26^th, the assembly worked on the results of the consultation carried out by the Synod General Council. Two members of the Commission in charge of preparing the synthesis of the contributions of USG and UISG (International Union of the Superior Generals) came to the assembly. Work continued in the afternoon by splitting into groups according to fields of interest. Finally, the morning of May 27^th was dedicated to mutual listening with the aim of defining common lines of action for USG in the period 2022-2024.
