Il 21 giugno 2019, nella Cattedrale di Bururi, il Vescovo Mons. Venant Bacinoni  ha solennemente aperto il Processo di Beatificazione sul martirio, che include non solo i saveriani p. Ottorino Maule, p. Aldo Marchiol e la volontaria Catina Gubert, ma anche il Primo martire, Abbè Michel Kayoya, ucciso il 17 maggio 1972 (e al quale verrà intitolata la Causa), e i quaranta seminaristi di Buta, uccisi il 30 aprile 1997. E’ la Prima Causa di canonizzazione che si apre in Burundi. Il postulatore generale, P. Guglielmo Camera, accompagnerà le prime sessioni coadiuvato da P. Gabriel Basuzwa, vice-postulatore. Il sottotitolo della Causa sarà: martiri della fraternità.

On June 21st – 2019, In the Cathedral Church of Bururi, Bishop Mons. Venant Bacinoni, solemnly, opened the process of Beatification on martyrdom, not only for the Xaverian missionaries Fr. Ottorino Maule, Fr. Aldo Marchiol, and the lay volunteer Ms. Catina Gubert, but also for the first martyr, Abbé Michel Kayoya, killed on May 17th – 1972. In his honor, the Beatification Process carries his name.  Included in the Beatification Process are also the forty Seminarians of Buta, martyred on April 30^th – 1997.   It is the first Canonization Process opened in Burundi.

The General Postulator is Fr. Guglielmo Camera. Fr. Camera will be helped in the first steps of the Process by Fr. Gabriel Basuzwa, Vice-Postulator.  The sub-title of the Cause of Beatification will be: Martyrs of Fraternity.
