All’inizio del nuovo anno pastorale e formativo per i nostri candidati, tutti i confratelli della regione si sono ritrovati in assemblea il 24 e 25 settembre presso la Domus di Bujumbura. Tema centrale dell’importante appuntamento sono state le riflessioni dettate dal nostro superiore regionale relative alla celebrazione del giubileo dei 125 anni dall’approvazione delle nostre costituzioni e del centenario della Lettera Testamento del nostro Santo Fondatore.

Abbiamo inoltre preparato la celebrazione del 25° anniversario del massacro dei nostri confratelli Ottorino Maule, Aldo Marchiol e la laica Catina Gubert avvenuto il 30 settembre 1995 in Buyengero. Il Nunzio apostolico e alcuni Vescovi del Burundi saranno presenti alle celebrazioni previste per sabato 26 settembre. Tutti i confratelli, i laici Saveriani, i nostri giovani in formazione, religiosi e religiose delle varie congregazioni presenti in Burundi parteciperanno al pellegrinaggio al santuario dei martiri della fraternità. L’assenza del nostro carissimo P. Guglielmo Camera renderà il sentimento di commozione e la preghiera fiduciosa ancora più forti: che dal cielo ci dia una mano per la conclusione della causa di beatificazione dei nostri carissimi Ottorino, Aldo e Catina, da lui portata avanti con uno straordinario spirito di amore per questa nostra terra burundese.

At the beginning of the new pastoral and formation year for all our candidates, all the Confreres of our Region met in the Assembly on September 24^th  and 25^th  - 2020, at the Domus of Bujumbura.  The reflections, dictated by Regional Superior, were the main theme of this important event. They all were related to the celebration of the Jubilee Year, recalling the approval of the Xaverian Constitutions and of the Testament Letter of the Founder.   We have also prepared the celebrations for the 25^th Anniversary of the massacre f our Confreres Fr. Ottorino Maule, Fr. Aldo Marchiol and the lay Catina Gubert on September 30^th – 1995 in Buyengero.   The Apostolic Nuncio and some Bishops of Burundi will attend the celebrations, scheduled for Saturday, September 26^th -2020.  All our Confreres, the Lay Xaverian Friends, our young people in formation, Religious Members of various Congregations present in Burundi will participate in the pilgrimage to the Shrine of the martyrs of the fraternity.  The absence of our dearest Fr. Guglielmo Camera, s.x. will add greater strength, deeper emotions and  sure hope to our prayers.  Fr. G. Camera, from heaven, will give us a hand to reach the happy conclusion of the cause of beatification of our dearest Ottorino, Aldo and Catina, brought foreword by him with an extraordinary spirit of love for our Burundian Land.
