Ognuno di noi ha in cuore e nella memoria quel 30 settembre del 1973  a Parma. Senza dubbio ogni compagno di vocazione e missione ha poi in mente e in cuore il “film” completo di questi cinquant’anni e sono sicuro che ciascuno in cuor vorrà esclamare: “Ti lodo o Signore perché mi hai fatto come un prodigio”!

Quale grazia poter rivedere scena per scena il crescere e lo svilupparsi paziente e progressivo di questo dono  e quindi poter esclamare: “Meravigliose sono o Signore le tue vie, meravigliosi i tuoi prodigi”. Adesso che tutto possiamo vedere dall’alto e nel suo insieme, dobbiamo ammettere senza alcun dubbio o incertezza: Tutto è stato grazia, tutto è stato un dono, un regalo provvidente.

Lui è il Pastore e ci ha guidati e consacrati suoi pastori dandoci la inestimabile grazia di accompagnare tanti fratelli e sorelle alle fonti dell’acqua viva e di offrire a tutti il banchetto della vita.

Davvero “felicità e grazia ci sono state compagne” e insieme vogliamo cantare: “Misericordias Domini in aeternum cantabo”. (Claudio Bortolossi sx, 50° di Ordinazione Presbiterale, 30 settembre 2023)

Each of us keeps in his heart and memory that September 30^th, 1973, in Parma. Moreover, every companion in vocation and mission certainly keeps in his mind and heart the entire “film” of these fifty years, and I am sure that everyone will utter in his heart: “I praise you because I am wonderfully made!”

What a grace to be able to review, scene after scene, the growth, and the patient and gradual development of this gift, and thus be able to say: “Marvellous are, o Lord, your ways, marvellous your deeds.” Now that we have gained a bird’s-eye view and see everything in its entirety, we must admit without any doubt or hesitation: Everything was a grace, everything was a gift, a provident gift.

He is the Shepherd who guided and consecrated us to be shepherds on his behalf by giving us the invaluable grace to accompany so many brothers and sisters to the fountains of living water and to offer the banquet of life to everyone.

Truly, “goodness and kindness have followed us” and together we want to sing “Misercordias Domini in aeternum cantabo (I will sing forever the mercy of the Lord).” (Claudio Bortolossi sx, 50^th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood, Settembre 30^th, 2023)
