È il tema del XXXIV Corso di aggiornamento (Roma, 2-4 gennaio 2025) per docenti di teologia dell’ATI (Associazione Teologica Italiana), cui ha partecipato anche il nostro confratello p. Mario Menin, socio dell’Associazione dalla fine degli anni ‘70 e ormai docente emerito invitato presso lo STI (Studio Teologico Interdiocesano) di Reggio Emilia, frequentato dai Saveriani dal 1994 ad oggi. Il corso ha preso spunto dal Giubileo 2025, connotato dal tema della speranza, rifacendosi alla Costituzione Gaudium et spes n. 44, che introduce il tema del rapporto Chiesa-mondo anche a partire dai segni dei tempi che nella storia aprono ad una speranza che non tocca solo il destino ultimo del mondo (creazione e storia), ma anche il presente. Una speranza incarnata, appunto. In questa luce, il Corso di aggiornamento ha provato a verificare cosa può voler dire abitare il presente, anche europeo, nel segno della speranza, cogliendone alcune variazioni di prospettiva e pratiche di vita.

EUROPEAN CONTINENT – REFRESH THEOLOGICAL COURSE: “WHICH WAYS FOR LIVING IN THE WORLD WITH HOPE? THEOLOGIES AND PRAXES FOR THE JUBILEE”
This was the theme of the XXXIV Refresh Course (Rome, January 2nd-4th, 2025) for theology teachers belonging to ATI (Associazione Teologica Italiana). The course was attended also by our confrere Fr. Mario Menin, who has been a member of the Associazione since the late 1970s and is now professor emeritus invited to teach at STI (Studio Teologico Interdiocesano) in Reggio Emilia, where the Xaverians have been trained from 1994 until today. The course drew inspiration from the Jubilee 2025, which is characterised by the theme of hope, and referred to n. 44 of the Constitution Gaudium et spes. This number of the Constitution introduces the theme of the relationship between Church and the world, starting from the signs of the times which bring hope to history, in terms both of the final destiny of the world (creation and history) and also of the present.
In other words, it is about an incarnated hope. From this perspective, the Refresh Course attempted to fathom what living under the sign of hope in the present means, also for Europe, by pointing out some changes of perspective and life praxis.
