In preparazione alla beatificazione dei Martiri della Fraternità il 18 agosto 2024, la Commissione diocesana per la beatificazione ha istituito diverse sottocommissioni per certuni ambiti. Nell'ambito delle attività di pre-beatificazione, la sottocommissione culturale e artistica aveva programmato una serie di attività, tra cui un colloquio scientifico e una serata culturale fatta di canti, balli tradizionali, teatro, …

L'idea di mettere in scena una rappresentazione teatrale sulla vita dei martiri beatificati come parte della serata culturale è nata da questa sottocommissione di cui facevo parte. Così, il giorno del lancio ufficiale delle attività culturali nella diocesi, ci siamo riuniti per valutare la giornata. Durante la valutazione, ci siamo resi conto che gli attori del “Centro Culturale e artistico Tukutane” avevano recitato un pezzo teatrale, solo che lo avevano realizzato secondo la loro propria immaginazione. Condividendo il mio punto di vista sulla rappresentazione, il presidente della sottocommissione ha voluto coinvolgermi nella progettazione e nell'organizzazione dell’opera teatrale.

Tutto è iniziato con le scoperte fatte nella mia ricerca sulla vita e sulla storia di questi quattro martiri. La loro vita, totalmente donata per Cristo, mi ha profondamento toccata.

L'obiettivo principale, allora, era quello di mettere in risalto la vita dei martiri, donata fino alla fine; e così farli conoscere meglio non solo alla popolazione di Uvira, ma anche a tanti altri, e risvegliare così il gusto della “Santità per tutti” in ogni cristiano.

La buona riuscita di questa attività è stata resa possibile con la partecipazione attiva del Centro culturale “TUKUTANE Art d'Uvira” attraverso il suo coordinatore, membro del nostro sottocomitato, i suoi membri e la sottoscritta. Sentiamo un forte senso di gratitudine nei confronti di questi attori che hanno utilizzato i loro talenti per il buon esito di questa iniziativa. In preparation for the beatification of the Martyrs of Fraternity last August 18, 2024, the diocesan beatification commission has set up several sub-commissions in different fields. As part of the pre-beatification activities, the cultural and artistic sub-commission had planned a number of activities, including a scientific colloquium and cultural night with songs, dances and theater.

The idea of staging a theatrical presentation on the lives of the four martyrs as part of the cultural night came from this sub-committee, of which I was a member. So, on the day of the official launch of cultural activities in the diocese, we came together to evaluate the day. During this evaluation, we realized that the actors from the “Tukutane Art Center” had performed a theatrical piece according to their own imagination. By sharing my point of view on the play, the coordinator of the sub-committee wanted me to be involved in the task of conceiving and organizing this theater play.

It all started with some discoveries in my research into the lives and history of these four martyrs.  Their lives, totally given for Christ, left a deep impression on me.

The main objective, therefore, was to highlight the lives of the martyrs, self-given to the very end, so that they would be better known not only by the people of Uvira, but also throughout the world, and thus awaken a taste for “Holiness for all” in every Christian.

The achievement of this activity was made possible thanks to the active participation of the “TUKUTANE Art Cultural Centre” through their coordinator, who was part of our sub-committee, its actors and me.
