Dal 26 al 29 dicembre 2022, i confratelli di voti perpetui della Regione messicana si sono incontrati per la tradizionaleAssemblea di Natale 2022, tenutasi presso la Casa della Filosofia. Fin dall'inizio l'atmosfera è stata fraterna e impegnata poiché la regione aveva appena celebrato il XVIII Capitolo Regionale (14-19 dicembre 2022).

Abbiamo iniziato i lavori dedicando una metà mattinata alla riflessione spirituale, guidata dal sacerdote diocesano Luis Alfonso Zepeda Martín, incentrata sul tema: “L'amore per la vocazione missionaria”. Altro momento importante è stata la presentazione degli Orientamenti e delle Deliberazioni del XVIII Capitolo Regionale. Il XVIII Capitolo Regionale ha avuto come asse centrale il “Riposizionamento”. In questa prospettiva sono stati analizzati i diversi settori della vita della circoscrizione: la Formazione di Base, l’ Animazione Missionaria, le Parrocchie, le Scuole e i Laici Saveriani. Particolare attenzione è stata data alla questione delle persone come soggetto principale per realizzare veri “riposizionamenti”. Ogni gruppo ha riflettuto e presentato alcune conclusioni che andranno ad arricchire ulteriormente il Piano Triennale che la nuova Direzione Regionale sta preparando. 

Un altro momento molto apprezzato è stato l'ascolto delle esperienze missionarie dei nostri confratelli in vacanza nella regione: i pp. Osvaldo Pulido Reynoso, Enrique Álvarez Casillas e Miguel Delgado Cedillo. 

A nome della Direzione Generale, P. Javier Peguero Pérez ci ha accompagnato e incoraggiato con una riflessione incentrata sullo spirito di preparazione al XVIII Capitolo Generale. Infine, il “paseo” (“uscita comunitaria”, ndr) e la “convivencia”  (“convivialità”, ndr)  hanno reso ancora più piacevole questo momento Saveriano nella Regione messicana. (Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién sx)

From December 26^th to 29^th, 2022, the perpetually professed confreres of the Mexican Region gathered for the traditional Christmas Assembly that took place in the Philosophy House. Since the beginning of the assembly, there has been a general mood of fraternity and commitment for the region had just celebrated the XVIII Regional Chapter (December 14^th-19^th, 2022).

We started the works by devoting a morning to spiritual reflection; it was led by a diocesan priest, Fr. Luis Alfonso Zepeda Martín, and centred around the theme Love for the Missionary Vocation. Another important moment was the presentation of the XVIII Regional Chapter’s Guidelines and Resolutions. The XVIII Regional Chapter focused on the issue of “repositioning”. In the light of this, we analysed the different sectors of the circumscription’s life, i.e.: initial formation, mission awareness promotion, parishes, schools and Xaverian lay people. Special attention was paid to the matter of personnel as the main subject in the effort of bringing about true repositioning. Each group reflected and then presented some conclusions that will further enrich the Three-year Plan which the new Regional Direction is drawing up. A third and much appreciated moment was when confreres that are in the region for vacations shared their missionary experiences – Fr. Osvaldo Pulido Reynoso, Fr. Enrique Álvarez Casillas and Fr. Miguel Delgado Cedillo.

On behalf of the General Direction, Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez accompanied and encouraged us with a reflection centring around the spirit required in the preparation leading to the XVIII General Chapter. Finally, this Xaverian event of the Mexican region was made even more pleasing by a paseo (community outing – ed.) and convivencia (conviviality – ed.). (Rubén Antonio Macías Sapién s.x.)
