Il 30 novembre si è svolta presso la Kogakkan University, istituzione shintoista situata a Ise, nella Prefettura di Mie (centro dello shintoismo), la 19ª Conferenza annuale dell’Ise International Forum for Religions. Il tema dell’incontro era “Le pratiche funerarie in una società multiculturale II”. Tra i relatori principali vi era p. Rocco Viviano SX, che ha tenuto una conferenza su “Il significato e la simbologia dei funerali cattolici” (in giapponese). Altri interventi sono stati presentati da rappresentanti della Japan Muslim Association e del Tenrikyo, seguiti da una tavola rotonda. (Rocco Viviano sx)

On 30 November 30, the 19^th Annual Conference of the Ise International Forum for Religions was held at Kogakkan University, a Shintoist institution in Ise, Mie Prefecture (which is the centre of Shintoism). The theme of the gathering was “Funerary Practices in a Multicultural Society II.” Among the featured speakers was Fr. Rocco Viviano, SX, who delivered a lecture in Japanese on “The Meaning and Symbolism of Catholic Funerals”. Other lectures were delivered by representatives of the Japan Muslim Association and Tenrikyo, followed by a panel discussion. (Rocco Viviano s.x.)
