La risonanza di questa settimana ci viene condivisa dal nostro confratello p. Solomon Bosbon Kargbo sx. P. Solomon è originario di Makeni (Sierra Leone). Dopo la prima professione religiosa e missionaria a Lungi (Sierra Leone) nel 2011, viene destinato alla Teologia di Città del Messico dove emette la Professione Perpetua (2015). Riceve l’ordinazione presbiterale a Makeni (Sierra Leone) nel 2016.  Dopo l’ordinazione, è impegnato nell’Animazione Missionaria e Vocazionale nella circoscrizione del Messico, prima a Salamanca (GTO) e poi a San Juan del Río (QRO). La condivisione porta il titolo di “El Señor no podía haber sido más bueno con nosotros” (Il Signore non poteva essere più buono con noi) ed è suddivisa in tre parti: 1) prima di entrare nella famiglia Saveriana; 2) il cammino di crescita per diventare un figlio di San Guido Maria Conforti; 3) la fedeltà al carisma saveriano oggi. Per leggere cliccare qui: El Señor no podía haber sido más bueno con nosotros

Il sito della DG pubblica un altro contributo dal titolo “Di quale saveriano ha bisogno la Chiesa oggi?” (Le sfide della formazione oggi). Si tratta di alcune note preparate da P. Gabriele Ferrari SX per il Convegno dei formatori del 2020 poi cancellato a causa della pandemia da Covid-19. Scrive P. Ferrari nell’introduzione: Confesso di aver fatto fatica a mettere queste note per iscritto … perché esse riflettono la mia sofferenza personale nel non vederle mai realizzate e nel ricordarmi situazioni concrete che faccio molta fatica ad accettare…

L’autore presenta le note caratteristiche della specificità saveriana nella mens del Fondatore; le rivisita alla luce dei cambiamenti sociali ed ecclesiali, avvenuti soprattutto a partire dal Concilio Vaticano II e le inserisce nei tratti specifici della missione oggi.

La scelta della missione di Gesù – la lieta notizia – verso i non cristiani come unico scopo della nostra vita, e che esclude ogni altra finalità (C 1; RF 3), è confermata dalle Costituzioni rinnovate. In esse emerge il volto della Congregazione di Mons. Conforti: una famiglia di missionari, nata dal carisma del Fondatore, dall’esperienza spirituale che egli fatto e che ha trasmesso anche a noi perché la riviviamo nel nostro tempo. La Direzione Generale spera che queste riflessioni, oltre ad essere studiate personalmente, siano fatte oggetto di incontri comunitari, di settore e/o di Circoscrizione. In questo anno giubilare saveriano, rinnoviamo il nostro impegno missionario ad gentes, ad vitam e ad extra, approfittando di ogni opportunità per ringraziare e celebrare il dono ricevuto attraverso San Guido M. Conforti.

This week’s resonance is written by Fr. Solomon Bobson Kargbo, s.x.  Fr. Solomon is originally from Makeni (Sierra Leone). After his first religious missionary profession in Lungi (Sierra Leone), he was assigned to the Xaverian Theology Community of Mexico City, where he celebrated his Perpetual Profession (2015). Solomon Bobson Kargbo was ordained priest in Makeni (Sierra Leone) in 2016. After his priestly ordination, Fr. Solomon was engaged in priestly ministry and in vocation promotion in Mexico, first in the city of Salamanca (GTO) and then in San Juan del Rio (QRO). The title of his reflection is: “El Senor no podia haber sido màs bueno con nosotros” (“The Lord could not have been more benevolent towards us”). The DG’s website publishes another contribution entitled: “Which kind of Xaverian does the Church need today?" Today’s challenges to formation. These are some reflections prepared by Fr. Gabriele Ferrari, s.x. for the 2020 Conference for Xaverian Formators, then cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Fr. Ferrari writes in the introduction: “I must confess that it took me some effort to write them down … because they reflect my personal suffering in never seeing them realized and in reminding me of concrete situations that I find very difficult to accept…”. The author presents the well-known characteristics specific to the Xaverian identity in the mind of the Founder. He revisits them in the light of social and ecclesial changes, which have occurred especially since the Second Vatican Council. Finally, Fr Gabriel inserts them into the specific traits of mission today. The choice of Jesus’ mission – the Good News – to non-Christians as the sole purpose of our lives, and which excludes all other purposes (C 1; RF 3), is confirmed by the new Constitutions. In them arises the face of the Congregation of Mons. Conforti: a family of missionaries, born from the charism of the Founder; from the spiritual experience that he made and also transmitted to us so that we could live it in our own time. The General Direction hopes that these reflections, in addition to being personally studied, will be the subject of community, sectors, regional meetings and encounters.  In this Xaverian Jubilee Year we renew our missionary commitment ‘ad gentes, ad vitam and ad extra’.
