Nell’ambito delle sue visite ordinarie alle Diocesi del Congo per l’animazione, la formazione permanente sulle Pontificie Opere Missionarie e l’incontro con i giovani nelle case di formazione, il Direttore nazionale delle Pontificie Opere Missionarie, Abbé Célestin Muhindo, in visita a Uvira da Kinshasa, dopo aver incontrato i giovani della Propedeutica diocesana di Kiringye, ha visitato la comunità del Prenoviziato e del Noviziato di Kilomoni (RDC), mercoledì 15 novembre 2023.

Ha poi presentato i 4 rami che formano le Pontificie Opere Missionarie: (1) la Pontificia Opera della Santa Infanzia (per suscitare nei bambini lo spirito di sacrificio, di comunione e di condivisione), (2) la Pontificia Opera di San Pietro Apostolo (animare il popolo di Dio sull’importanza della formazione del clero), (3) la Pontificia Opera per la Propagazione della Fede (suscitare l'interesse dei fedeli cattolici per l'evangelizzazione e la missione universale), (4) la Pontificia Unione Missionaria di cui il nostro Fondatore, San Guido Maria Conforti, fu il primo presidente (per ravvivare e approfondire la coscienza missionaria di sacerdoti, religiosi e operatori pastorali).

Padre Célestin Muhindo ha concluso il suo intervento dicendo che il nostro modo di fare e di vivere può spingere i fedeli a donare generosamente e ad aiutarci oppure a scoraggiarli. Ha poi invitato i novizi e i prenovizi a essere seri e a mettersi al lavoro nella loro formazione missionaria. (Valentin Shukuru Bihaira sx)

As part of his ordinary visits in the Dioceses of Congo for animation, ongoing formation on the Pontifical Missionary Works and meetings with young people in formation houses, the National Director of the Pontifical Missionary Works, Fr. Célestin Muhindo, arrived to Uvira from Kinshasa. During his visit in Uvira, he met the young people of the Diocesan Propaedeutic Program in Kiringye, then, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, visited our Pre-novitiate/Novitiate in Kilomoni.

Fr. Muhindo then presented the four branches that form the Pontifical Missionary Works: (1) the pontifical society of the holy childhood (to foster the spirit of sacrifice, communion and sharing in children), (2) the pontifical society of Saint Peter the Apostle (to promote the awareness of God’s People about the importance of training priests), (3) the pontifical society for the propagation of the faith (to arouse the interest of the Catholic faithful in evangelization and universal mission), (4) the Pontifical Missionary Union, whose first president was our Founder St. Guido Maria Conforti (to re-kindle and deepen the missionary consciousness of priests, religious and pastoral agents).

Fr. Célestin Muhindo closed his presentation by saying that the way we act and live can boost the faithful’s willingness to give and help us or can discourage them. He then called on the Novices and Pre-novices to be serious and committed to their missionary formation.  (Valentin Shukuru Bihaira sx)
