Siamo tornati a Taipei la sera dell'11 gennaio, per poi volare a Manila il 13 gennaio.

Questo perché il 14 gennaio avremmo dovuto iniziare il corso sulle Religioni Asiatiche alla Loyola School of Theology (LST). Era il mio turno di insegnare prima "Introduzione al Confucianesimo", mentre a febbraio sarebbe seguito un corso sull'Induismo, tenuto da padre Sergio Targa, e infine un corso sul Buddismo, tenuto da padre Tiziano Tosolini. È stato un piacere insegnare a una classe di studenti maturi ed estremamente attenti (alcuni dei quali erano già ordinati) provenienti da diversi ordini religiosi.

Questa volta, durante il corso – che insegno ormai da undici anni – ero gravato dal fatto che avrei dovuto preparare una lezione per il 40° anniversario della Scuola Vincenziana di Teologia e dell'Università Adamson.

L'argomento che mi avevano assegnato era insolito e impegnativo: "Giustizia Sociale Confuciana". La lezione si sarebbe tenuta il 29 gennaio, e suppongo che sia andata bene. Anche in questo caso, mi sono avvalso di una presentazione in PowerPoint che avevo preparato.

Il 30 gennaio era il giorno dell'esame per gli studenti della LST. Il 31 gennaio siamo tornati a Taipei. (Umberto e Gioia Bresciani, Taipei, Taiwan)

We were back in Taipei on the night of Jan. 11, only to fly to Manila on Jan. 13.

That was because on Jan 14, we were supposed to start the course on Asian Religions at the Loyola School of Theology (LST). It was my turn to teach “Introduction to Confucianism” first, while in February, there would follow a course on Induism, taught by Fr. Sergio Targa, and finally a course on Buddhism, taught by Fr. Tiziano Tosolini. It was a pleasure to teach a class of extremely attentive mature students (some of them were already ordained) from various religious orders.

This time, during the course – which I have been teaching for eleven years already – I was burdened by the fact that I was supposed to prepare a lecture for the 40th anniversary of the Vincentian School of Theology and Adamson University.

The topic they assigned to me was unusual and challenging: “Confucian Social Justice.” The lecture was on Jan. 29, and I suppose it was ok. Again, I was helped by a PPT I had prepared. Jan. 30 was the examination day for the LST students. On January 31, we returned to Taipei. (Umberto and Gioia Bresciani Taipei, Taiwan)
