Si intitola "Ascesi quaresimale, itinerario sinodale" il Messaggio di papa Francesco per la Quaresima 2023.
Nel suo messaggio papa Francesco sceglie il Vangelo della Trasfigurazione, per invitarci a un’esperienza di ascesi quaresimale in cui siamo chiamati a “salire su un alto monte” insieme a Gesù.
Come i discepoli che vennero condotti dal Maestro sul Monte Tabor, non saremo soli a compiere questo percorso in salita, ma in compagnia dei nostri fratelli e sorelle. Dopo un sentiero che “richiede sforzo, sacrificio e concentrazione”, arriveremo alla meta, dove “il panorama che si spalanca alla fine sorprende e ripaga per la sua meraviglia…”.
MESSAGE FOR LENT 2023: “LENTEN PENANCE AND THE SYNODAL JOURNEY”
“Lenten Penance and the Synodal Journey” is the title of Pope Francis’ Message for Lenten 2023.
In his message, Pope Francis choses the Gospel of the Transfiguration to invite us to experience the Lenten penance as a call to “climb a high mountain” with Jesus. Like the disciples that were led by the Master on Mount Tabor, we too will not be alone on this uphill path, for we will be hiking in the company of our brothers and sisters. After a mountain trek, that “requires effort, sacrifice and concentration”, we will reach the summit, where “the panorama that opens up at the end amazes us and rewards us by its grandeur…”.
