Il nostro gruppo Saveriano del IV piano della Casa Madre di Parma si è radunato questa mattina di mercoledì 21 settembre 2022 per poter condividere insieme alcuni sentimenti ed impressioni che la morte improvvisa del nostro confratello p. Boesso Carmelo sx - avvenuta proprio in una delle camere di questa “infermeria” martedì 20 settembre – ha suscitato dentro di noi. Alla grande sorpresa s’è unito anche un certo senso di sconcerto. C’eravamo incontrati con lui lunedì 19 settembre al mattino per la celebrazione dell’Eucarestia: la condivisione della Parola e del Pane spezzato. Siamo rimasti senza parole. Ancora una volta, nel momento in cui meno te l’aspetti, la morte arriva e ti porta inesorabilmente via. 

Con mesto cordoglio ci siamo riuniti in preghiera per condividere liberamente tra di noi, ciò che il cuore e la memoria ci spingevano a ricordare di questo caro confratello. 

Nei vari interventi c’è stata unanimità nel ricordare il grande valore che ha segnato tutta la vita di p. Carmelo Boesso sx nelle sue varie attività e nelle comunità in cui l’obbedienza l’ha portato a vivere il servizio religioso e missionario.  

Corale, infatti, è stata la testimonianza del suo animo integro e sincero nel rispondere con cuore generoso e sereno alla sua vocazione missionaria e ai vari compiti richiesti. 

Riportiamo qui due delle varie testimonianze condivise durante il nostro incontro di mercoledì mattina 21 settembre: 

• Lunedì 19 settembre 2022, nella sua breve omelia, tenuta nella celebrazione al IV piano, ci ha lasciato quasi un testamento. Ci ha incoraggiato “ad essere buoni, sempre buoni, mai arrabbiati, malgrado il peso degli anni e delle malattie che ci portiamo personalmente sulle spalle…”   

• In una delle sue ultime celebrazioni al IV piano ebbe a dire: “Il mio ministero, oltre al servizio delle Confessioni e della Direzione Spirituale che continuo nel Santuario San Guido Conforti, lo concludo qui tra voi del IV piano e vi ringrazio per la vostra fraterna accoglienza. Tra voi mi sento più fratello...” (dal messaggio inviato dai Confratelli del IV Piano, Casa Madre, Parma, giovedì 22 settembre 2022)

We, the group of Xaverians living in the IV Floor of the Mother House (Parma), gathered this morning, Wednesday September 21^st, 2022, to share sentiments and impressions provoked in us by the sudden death of our confrere Fr. Carmelo Boesso – who passed away in one of the bedrooms of this “nursing home” on Tuesday, September 20^th. Great surprise paralleled dismay. We had met with him in the morning of Monday, September 19^th, for the Eucharistic celebration, to share the Word and broken Bread. We were left speechless. Once again, just when you do not expect it, death comes and takes you away for ever.

We gathered to pray, grieve and freely share among ourselves the memories of this dear confreres that emerged from our hearts and minds.

All were unanimous in remembering the great value of Fr. Carmelo Boesso’s life, which he spent entirely in religious and missionary service to the communities and activities he had been assigned to.

All were truly concordant in describing the integrity and sincerity of his soul, and the generosity and kindness with which he answered his missionary call and accepted the various tasks he was assigned.

Below, we report two of the various testimonies shared during our meeting in the morning of Wednesday, September 21^st:

• Monday, September 19^th, 2022: in the brief homily he delivered during the celebration at the Fourth Floor, he left to us a sort of last will. He encouraged us “to be good, always good; never get angry, even if the years and illness weigh heavy on our shoulders…”

• In one of his last celebrations at the Fourth Floor, he said: “Apart from the service as confessor and spiritual director which I keep carrying on in St Guido Conforti Shrine, I conclude my ministry among you, here at the Fourth Floor. I thank you for your brotherly welcome. I feel even more brother among you…” (from the message sent by the Confreres of the Fourth Floor of the Mother House in Parma, Thursday, September 22^nd, 2022)
