Dal 1 al 15 agosto 2021, 21 giovani confratelli impegnati nella missione ad gentes in Africa si sono riuniti presso il Centre Théophile Verbist - Mbudi a Kinshasa (RDC) per un tempo di aggiornamento, insieme a p. Fernando García Rodríguez, nostro Superiore Generale e p. Fabian Kalehezo, consigliere generale incaricato della formazione permanente.
Il relatore della prima e seconda giornata, p. Jean Claude Kanku, CICM, il cui tema era "Rileggere le nostre prime esperienze missionarie", ci ha ricordato che rivediamo le nostre esperienze missionarie per prendere coscienza dell'opera di Dio in tutto ciò che facciamo.
Il relatore del terzo e quarto giorno, Mons. Félicien Ntambue, Vescovo di Kabinda ci ha ricordato che "la specificità della missione ad gentes è che si rivolge ai non cristiani" (RM n. 34). Pertanto, la domanda che ci poniamo come missionari ad gentes è: "Siamo dove dovremmo essere?" Infine, ha ribadito che "l'appartenenza alla congregazione deve avere la precedenza su tutte le altre affiliazioni: biologiche, tribali, nazionali, contrattuali...". From August 1 to 15, 2021, 21 young confreres engaged in the mission ad gentes in Africa gathered at the Center Théophile Verbist - Mbudi in Kinshasa in RD. Congo for a time of aggiornamento, together with Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez, our Superior General and Fr. Fabian Kalehezo, the general counsellor in charge of the Ongoing Formation.
The lecturer of the first and second day, Fr. Jean Claude Kanku, CICM - whose topic was “Rereading our early missionary experiences”, - reminded us that reviewing our missionary experiences is to become aware of the work of God in all that we do.
The speaker on the third and fourth day, Monsignor Félicien Ntambue, Bishop of Kabinda, reminded us that "being addressed to the non-Christians is the specific nature of the mission ad gentes” (cf. RM 34). Therefore, the question we ask ourselves as missionaries ad gentes is: "Are we where we should be?" Monsignor Félicien Ntambue also helped us rediscover the sense of belonging to our religious family.
