Ospitato dalla comunità dei Missionari Saveriani della Casa Madre di Parma, il Laicato Saveriano si è riunito dall’8 al 10 dicembre 2023 per la consueta convivenza invernale. Un’occasione importante per i gruppi presenti in Italia, di trovarsi tutti insieme, condividere momenti di preghiera, formazione e progettazione delle esperienze di missione in Italia e nel mondo.

Molto stimolante è stato l’incontro di formazione condotto da Donata Horak, canonista e docente presso lo Studio Teologico Alberoni, che ha affrontato il secondo tema del nostro percorso di formazione sull’esortazione apostolica “Amoris laetitia”, fornendoci chiavi di lettura importanti e con sguardo missionario.

Le assemblee di sabato come sempre sono state ricche di argomenti cari alla famiglia del Laicato: la preparazione per la partenza per il Bangladesh di una coppia di laici, il confronto sulla possibile esperienza di missione dopo il viaggio di alcuni di noi in Marocco (Tangeri e Fnidq), le varie attività in Italia come il Progetto in carcere a Salerno, quello con le donne bengalesi a Parma, la Fraternità di Parma, il Progetto Nyota a Goma e il documento sul Laicato Internazionale che ha visto la partecipazione in collegamento da Roma di p. Javier Peguero Pérez che ci ha restituito la sintesi delle riflessioni e degli orientamenti del XVIII Capitolo Generale.

Belle anche le occasioni vissute tutti insieme, i bambini che hanno preparato l’albero di Natale nel refettorio e i momenti semplici, di comunità con i missionari, in particolare durante i pasti. Interessanti momenti di svago ma anche di riflessione, sono state le visite alla rinata chiesa di San Francesco del Prato, al convento benedettino di San Giovanni Evangelista e al Museo d'Arte Cinese ed Etnografico, perla culturale dei Saveriani

Giornate davvero ricche, in cui abbiamo fatto esperienza innanzitutto di quello spirito di famiglia a cui il Fondatore ancora oggi ci chiama. (Serena Rolandi, Laicato Saveriano)

Hosted by the community of the Xaverian Missionaries of the Mother House in Parma, the Xaverian Laity gathered from December 8^th to 10^th, 2023 for their usual winter camp. For the groups present in Italy, this is an important occasion to meet everyone, share moments of prayer, formation and planning of the missionary experiences in Italy and in the world.

The formation meeting led by Donata Horak was particularly stimulating; a canonist that teaches at the Studio Teologico Alberoni, she guided our second workshop of our formation journey on the apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia; she provided us with important keys of interpretation and a missionary perspective. 

The assemblies held on Saturday are always the richest in the topics which are most dear to the family of the Laity: the preparation of a lay couple’s departure for Bangladesh; an exchange on a tentative missionary experience following the trip to Morocco (Tangier and Fnidq) by some of us; various activities in Italy, such as Progetto in carcere in Salerno, the project designed to target Bengali women in Parma, the Fraternità di Parma, the Progetto Nyota in Goma (Congo); and the document on the International Laity whose discussion was attended on-line by Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez from Rome – he gave us a synthesis of the reflections and guidelines produced by the XVIII General Chapter. 

Beautiful were also other occasions together: the children that adorned the Christmas tree in the refectory and the simple moments of community life with the missionaries, especially during the meals. The visits to the renovated church of St Francis del Prato, to the Benedictine abbey of St John the Evangelist and to the Museum of Chinese Art and Ethnography – cultural pearl of the Xaverians – were exciting moments of both leisure and reflection.

Truly rich days: we experienced, first of all, that spirit of family which the Founder keeps calling us to even today. (Serena Rolandi, Laicato Saveriano)
