Venerdì 19 aprile 2024, presso la biblioteca provinciale in Salerno, si è tenuta la presentazione del libro del prof. Ambrogio Bongiovanni dal titolo “La croce e l’Islam”, promossa dalle associazioni che hanno dato vita al coordinamento “Sognare la Pace”, ambito nel quale la Famiglia Saveriana di Salerno ha una presenza attiva.

Il nostro confratello p. Ferdinandus Supandri ha introdotto il confronto tra il prof. Bongiovanni  Ambrogio (docente e Direttore del Centro Studi Interreligiosi della Pontificia Università Gregoriana) e Eugenio Sharif Mastrovito (referente regionale dell’ Unione delle Comunità Islamiche d’Italia). Due ore trascorse in un proficuo dialogo tra i relatori e i partecipanti con domande e riflessioni. 

Siamo coscienti che questi incontri non cambieranno certamente le sorti dell’umanità, tuttavia, attraverso la crescente consapevolezza dei partecipanti, un seme di speranza viene gettato nelle nostre azioni quotidiane e nelle nuove generazioni. (Rosario Giannattasio sx)

The presentation of Prof Ambrogio Bongiovanni's book, “The cross and Islam,” was held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the provincial library in Salerno. The associations that gave birth to "Dreaming of Peace" promoted this event, in which the Xaverian Family of Salerno has an active presence.

Our confrere, Fr. Ferdinandus Supandri introduced the discussion between Prof. Bongiovanni Ambrogio (professor and Director of the Center for Interreligious Studies of the Pontifical Gregorian University) and Eugenio Sharif Mastrovito (regional contact for the Union of Islamic Communities of Italy)—two hours filled in a fruitful dialogue between the speakers and participants with questions and reflections.

We are aware that these meetings will certainly not change the fate of humanity; however, through the growing awareness of the participants, a seed of hope is sown in our daily actions and in the new generations. (Rosario Giannattasio, sx)
