In procinto di celebrare un anno dal suo arrivo in Marocco come Amministratore Apostolico dell'Arcidiocesi di Tangeri, il 7 febbraio p. Emilio Rocha Grande, OFM, ha ricevuto la nomina ad Arcivescovo di questa stessa Chiesa che ha visitato e conosciuto, compreso e amato in questi mesi di servizio semplice e francescano. È stato un Kairos intenso, sia per il Vescovo Emilio che per il popolo di Dio che ha incontrato in tutte le parrocchie dell’arcidiocesi. Possiamo dire che, con il suo arrivo, l'Arcidiocesi di Tangeri è entrata in una nuova tappa di evangelizzazione. Una situazione nuova nella quale Mons. Emilio ha favorito nuovi impulsi per riunire forze: ha promosso servizi; ha aperto porte e cammini alla fede del Popolo di Dio che gli è stato affidato. Ha, infatti, riorganizzato delegazioni e commissioni per il lavoro pastorale, sociale e di dialogo che hanno generato, nel contesto del cammino sinodale, vitalità e nuove speranze.

La comunità Saveriana che vive in Marocco è molto grata per il suo arrivo e per la deferenza, la comprensione e la fiducia che ci ha accordato durante il suo anno come Amministratore Apostolico. Ha, infatti, visitato più volte la nostra comunità; ci ha sempre accolto con grande premura presso la sua sede; il suo accompagnamento è fraterno e paterno insieme.

Siamo pieni di gratitudine a Dio Padre per aver esaudito la preghiera dei suoi figli che da quasi quattro anni desiderano avere un buon pastore. Esprimiamo anche la nostra gratitudine al Vescovo Emilio per la sua generosa disponibilità alla missione affidatagli da papa Francesco. Ad multos annos! (Juan Antonio Flores Osuna sx)

On February 7^th, whilst he was about to mark one year since his arrival in Morocco as Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Tangier, Fr. Emilio Rocha Grande OFM has been appointed Archbishop of this same Church which, during these months of simple and Franciscan service, he has visited, familiarized with, understood and loved. It has been an intense kairos for both Bishop Emilio and God’s people whom he has met in all the parishes of the Archdiocese. We may say that with his arrival to the Archdiocese of Tangier a new phase of evangelization has begun. In this new situation, Msgr. Emilio has been acting in favour of united efforts: he has promoted services; he has opened doors and path of faith for the People of God that has been entrusted to him. In fact, he has reorganised delegations and committees for pastoral and social work and dialogue, which, in the context of the synod, have generated dynamisms and new hopes.

The Xaverian community that lives in Morocco is very grateful for his arrival, his respect, comprehension and trust towards us during the year he spent as Apostolic Administrator. He has visited our community many times; he has always welcomed us in his home with great consideration; he has accompanied us as a brother and a father at the same time.

We are full of gratitude to God the Father for answering the prayer of his children who, for about four years, have been wishing for a good shepherd. We want to express our gratitude also to Bishop Emilio for his readiness to accept with generosity the mission Pope Francis has entrusted to him. Ad multos annos! (Juan Antonio Flores Osuna sx)
