Dopo la beatificazione di Vittorio Faccin, Luigi Carrara, Giovani Didonè e Albert Joubert, avvenuta il 18 agosto 2024 a Uvira, il Dicastero del Culto Divino e della Disciplina dei Sacramenti, il 1° novembre 2024 ha emanato il decreto nel quale si approva l’inserimento della memoria dei nuovi beati martiri nel calendario proprio del nostro Istituto. Il decreto presenta la modalità di invocazione dei martiri (“Beati  Giovanni Didonè e compagni, martiri”), la nota biografica, la colletta e la seconda lettura dell’Ufficio delle letture. Il resto della Liturgia delle Ore, così pure degli altri testi per l’Eucaristia (preghiere, letture, prefazi) sono tratti dal Comune dei martiri (per più martiri). Le letture proposte per la Liturgia della Parola sono le seguenti: Sap 3,1-9; Sal 30 (31); Gv 12,24-26. 

“Custodiamo la memoria dei nostri fratelli, specialmente di quelli che si sono sacrificati per il Regno di Dio fino al martirio. Il loro ricordo aiuta a tener desto l’ideale al quale abbiamo dedicato la vita” (C 51).

Following the beatification (Uvira, August 18^th, 2024) of Vittorio Faccin, Luigi Carrara, Giovani Didonè and Albert Joubert, on November 1^st, 2024, the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments issued the decree approving the inclusion of the memory of the new Blessed Martyrs in our Institute’s own calendar. The decree illustrates the manner of invoking these martyrs (Blessed Giovanni Didonè and Companions, Martyrs), a biographical sketch, the Mass opening prayer and the second reading in the Office of Readings. The remaining parts of the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as other texts for the Mass (prayers, readings, preface) are taken from the Common of Martyrs. The readings for the Liturgy of the Word that have been proposed are: Wisdom 3: 1-9; Psalm 30 (31); John 12: 24-26. 

We cherish the memory of our brothers, especially those who sacrificed their lives in martyrdom for the Kingdom of God. Their memory helps us to keep alive the ideal to which we have dedicated our lives. (Constitutions 51)
