Condividiamo un messaggio di Suor María Aureliana Aguirre Rodríguez, già Superiora Generale delle Suore Passioniste in Messico e attualmente missionaria a Lubumbashi, RDC:

“…con grande gioia mi sento spiritualmente unita a tutti i Missionari Saveriani, per la Beatificazione dei Martiri dell'Est della R.D.CONGO. Che gioia! Sia benedetto lo Spirito che ha donato loro la forza di essere fedeli fino alla fine. Il Signore Gesù continui a rafforzare anche ciascuno di noi, oggi. Congratulazioni...”

Condividiamo una parte del discorso di ringraziamento fatto a nome delle Famiglie dei quattro beati, dal Signor Trick Pius, nipote dell’Abbé Albert Joubert, nella celebrazione della beatificazione:

“…non abbiamo ricevuto la fede per posta. Siamo nati e cresciuti in una famiglia dove l’esempio vivente dell’Abbé Albert così come di Vittorio, Luigi e Giovanni era presentato come espressione sincera e totale del dono di sé per Cristo e per il suo popolo qui in Congo. Già dall’infanzia, intuivamo che la nostra famiglia non poteva dimenticare i loro volti e che questi martiri continuavano ad accompagnarci nella nostra vita con la loro preghiera. Che emozione, oggi, vedere che la nostra famiglia è benedetta da questi quattro beati. E, ancora di più, che gioia constatare che tutti noi, nonostante la nostra finitezza e per grazia di Dio, possiamo essere santi: “Santi come il nostro Padre celeste è santo”, diceva Gesù…”.

“It is with great joy that I feel spiritually united with all the Xaverian Missionaries at the Beatification of the Eastern Martyrs of the D.R. CONGO. What a joy! Blessed be the Spirit who gave them the strength to be faithful to the end. May the Lord Jesus continue to strengthen each of us today as well. Congratulations…”

We also share an excerpt from the speech of thanksgiving delivered during the celebration of beatification on behalf of the Families of the four blessed by Mr. Trick Pius, nephew of Fr. Albert Joubert:

“…Faith was not transmitted to us by mail. We were born and grew in a family where the living example of Father Albert, as well as of Vittorio, Luigi and Giovanni, was presented as a sincere and total expression of self-giving for Christ and for his people here, in Congo. In childhood, we already felt that our family could not forget their faces and that these martyrs continued to accompany us in our lives with their prayers. How thrilling it is to see today that our family is blessed by these four blessed ones! And, even more, what a joy to realise that all of us, despite our being limited, by God's grace, can be holy: ‘Holy as our heavenly Father is holy’, as Jesus said...”.
