Martedì 6 giugno 2023 alle ore 15:00 ha avuto luogo la IV videoconferenza sul tema del XVIII Capitolo Generale, a partire dal continente europeo. Ha introdotto la videoconferenza p. Mario Menin sx, che ha articolato la sua presentazione in due parti. La PRIMA, “In Europa”, centrata sul “vedere”, con 11 slides: Notre Dame brucia; la fine della cristianità; tra esculturazione e inculturazione del cristianesimo; l’Europa, terra di religioni de-culturate, pret-a-porter? della “fede scomparsa”? o del cristianesimo come “religione impossibile”?; Dio ha traslocato al Sud?; il cristianesimo come “minoranza creativa” (Benedetto XVI) , “come stile” (Christophe Theobald), nella logica del “poliedro” (papa Francesco). La SECONDA parte, “Come amare la proprio vocazione saveriana?”, focalizzata sul “giudicare”, con 12 slides: Karl Rahner e la trasformazione strutturale della Chiesa con tre domande: 1) dove siamo? 2) che cosa dobbiamo fare? 3) come può essere pensata la Chiesa del futuro?; la soluzione non è la fuga, ma vivere nella crisi, come opportunità; colmare il ritardo di “200 anni” (card. Martini), ripartendo dal cristianesimo che non esiste ancora (Dominique Collin); i saveriani come pescatori che osano gettare le reti in mare aperto, duc in altum!, staccando le ancore dalle false sicurezze; i saveriani tra Scilla e Cariddi: dopo aver sbattuto sullo scoglio del modello coloniale della missione, fare attenzione a non sbattere sullo scoglio opposto, della  tribalizzazione della missione; Tantum aurora est! (Giovanni XXIII): è solo l’aurora! Non  illudersi  di essere già missionari, ma pensare a come diventarlo. 

The fourth video meeting on the theme of the XVIII General Chapter, that was explored from the perspective of the European continent, took place on Tuesday, June 6^th, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. (Rome time). Fr. Mario Menin s.x. introduced the meeting with a two-part presentation. The first, “In Europe”, centred round “seeing” and included the showing of 11 slides: the fire of Notre Dame; the end of Christianity; from exculturation to inculturation of Christianity; Europe, land of de-cultured, pret-a-porter religions? of a “lost faith”? or of Christianity as “impossible religion”?; did God relocate to the South?; Christians as a “creative minority” (Benedict XVI), Christianity “as a style” (Christophe Theobald), within the “polyhedron” logic (Pope Francis). The second part, on “How to love one’s Xaverian vocation?”, focused on 12 slides: Karl Rahner and the structural transformation of the Church, with three questions – 1) where are we? 2) what do we have to do? 3) how can the Church of the future be conceived?; the solution is not to escape, but live the crisis as an opportunity; bridging the “200-year” gap (Card. Martini) by starting again from the type of Christianity that does not exist yet (Dominique Collin); the Xaverians as fishermen who dare to cast their nets into the open sea, duc in altum! (into deep water), shearing off the anchors of false certainties; the Xaverians between Scylla and Charybdis: after hitting the rock of the colonial model of mission, beware of not hitting the opposite rock of the tribalisation of mission; Tantum auroa est! (John XXIII): It’s the dawn! Do not be deluded into believing you are already missionaries, rather think about how to become ones.
