The “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” — adopted by the United Nations on December 10, 1948 — contains 30 articles. These articles list the fundamental rights that should be guaranteed to all individuals, regardless of their nationality, sex, language, religion, or other status.
Considering that recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family, the Declaration constitutes the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world.
