Carissimi,

oggi, cinque novembre, celebriamo la memoria festiva di san Guido M. Conforti, padre e fondatore della nostra Famiglia saveriana.

Invio a ciascuno di voi i più fraterni e cordiali auguri di una buona celebrazione vissuta nel ringraziamento della Provvidenza di Dio nella nostra vita.

“Il Signore non poteva essere più buono con noi”, scrisse Mons. Conforti all’inizio della Lettera Testamento. Questa frase esprime bene la maturità spirituale che caratterizzò la sua vita, riconoscendo l’opera del Signore in lui e nell’Istituto missionario da lui fondato venticinque anni prima. Sì, in definitiva di questo si tratta, di saper riconoscersi opera amata del Signore. È la chiave di una vita credente riuscita, e quindi di una vita affidata al Signore al servizio del Primo Annuncio del Vangelo nella Famiglia saveriana.

Dear Confreres,

today, November 5^th, we celebrate the memory of St Guido M. Conforti, father and founder of our Xaverian Family.

I would like to send each one of you my most fraternal and heartfelt wishes of a good celebration of thanksgiving for the presence of Divine Providence in our lives.

 “The Lord could not have been more benevolent towards us!”, as Msgr. Conforti wrote at the beginning of his Testament Letter. This sentence well expresses the spiritual maturity that characterised his life, for it recognises the action of the Lord in him and in the missionary institute he had founded twenty-five years before. Indeed, this is what is all about: being able to recognise that our family is a creature loved by the Lord. This is the key to living a successful life as believers, that is, a life entrusted to the Lord for the service of the first Proclamation of the Gospel in the Xaverian family.
