- Valentin Shukuru, sx – attualmente Maestro del Noviziato Saveriano in Africa, a Kilomoni (RDC) - scrive al Capitolo Generale, titolando il suo intervento: Amare la nostra vocazione saveriana, sviluppare il nostro “sensus Xaverianus”. P. Valentin così scrive all’inizio della sua riflessione: “… La scelta del mio Paese e della mia città (Bukavu, ndr.) come luogo per la celebrazione del XVIII CG … mi onora come cittadino … ma soprattutto mi invita a vivere pienamente la mia vocazione e sviluppare sempre più il mio “senso di essere saveriano” (mon sens d’être Xavérien). Il Congo è una terra tanto amata dai Missionari Saveriani. E i confratelli martiri, il cui sangue versato ha innaffiato il suolo congolese a Baraka e Fizi, così come il cimitero di Panzi dove riposano i corpi dei confratelli logorati da tanti anni di missione, restano il più grande segno di amore per il popolo e per la vocazione saveriana”. - Il 1° novembre è stata caricata sul sito la scheda tematica n. 3 che ha come titolo: Dove siamo. Ad gentes, ad extra, ad vitam. Missione e cultura. È disponibile in sei lingue. Vedi qui. Come le altre schede, è stata preparata dal Comitato Preparatorio.
- Nella finestra ‘Risposte’, questa settimana pubblichiamo altre 10 risposte, personali e comunitarie, alla tematica proposta nella scheda 1: Da dove veniamo. Le trovi qui. Ci sono alcune Circoscrizioni che non hanno inviato ancora alcun report comunitario e/o personale. Ricordiamo l’importanza del contributo di tutti per una efficace preparazione al XVIII CG. Gentilmente, sollecitiamo queste Circoscrizioni a condividere la loro parte di riflessione e proposte con tutta la nostra Famiglia. C’è ancora tempo!
- Intanto, stiamo già ricevendo le risposte alla Scheda 2. Ricordiamo che la deadline per le risposte alla scheda 2 (Dove siamo: AMeV, parrocchie missionarie e mondo digitale) è il prossimo 15 novembre 2022. Qui trovi la scheda tematica n.2.
- Il Comitato preparatorio augura a tutti una buona e fruttuosa Festa di San Guido Maria Conforti con queste sue parole: “Con l’augurio che tutti un giorno abbiamo a ritrovarci in Cielo nella stessa patria beata, dopo d’essere stati membri della stessa famiglia in terra, vi benedico”. (LT 11)

Towards the XVIII General Chapter – (5 November 2022)
- Fr. Valentin Shukuru, sx - currently Master of the Xaverian Novitiate in Africa, in Kilomoni (DRC) - writes to the General Chapter, heading his reflection: Loving our Xaverian vocation, developing our ‘sensus Xaverianus’. Fr. Valentin thus writes at the beginning of his reflection: «... The choice of my country and my city (Bukavu, ed.) as the place for the celebration of the XVIII GC ... honors me as a citizen ... but above all it invites me to fully live my vocation and develop more and more my 'sense of being Xaverian' (mon sens d'être Xavérien). Congo is a land so loved by the Xaverian Missionaries. And the martyr confreres, whose blood shed has watered the Congolese soil in Baraka and Fizi, as well as the cemetery in Panzi where the bodies of the brothers worn out by so many years of missionary work rest, remain the greatest sign of love for the people and for the Xaverian vocation». - On 1 November, the thematic sheet (issue) n. 3 which has the title: Where are we? Ad gentes, ad extra, ad vitam and mission and culture, was uploaded to the DG website. It is available in six languages. See here. Like the other issues, it was made by the Preparatory Committee.
- In the 'Risposte' window, this week we publish 10 more personal and community responses to the theme proposed by issue 1: Where do we come from? You can find them here.
There are some Circumscriptions that have not yet sent any community and/or personal reports. We recall the importance of everyone's input for an effective preparation for the 18th GC. Kindly, we urge these Circumscriptions to share their part of reflection and proposals with our whole Family. There is still time! - Meanwhile, we are already receiving responses to issue n.2. As a reminder, the deadline for responses to the second Thematic sheet (Where we are: AMeV, missionary parishes, and the digital world) is next November 15, 2022. You can find Issue n. 2 here.
- The Preparatory Committee wishes everyone a good and fruitful Feast of St. Guido Maria Conforti with these words: “In the hope that we will one day meet together in heaven, and share the same heavenly homeland, after having been members of the same family on earth, I bless you all”. (TL 11)
