Il 5-6 ottobre il settimanale “Vita Trentina” della diocesi di Trento ha moderato la presentazione del libro scritto da p. Gabriele Ferrari sx : “Contentissimo di essere in Cina”, edito da ViTrenD, nella Chiesa di Transacqua (Primiero, Trento), paese natale di Mons. Faustino Tissot sx. Una seconda presentazione del libro è stata fatta anche al Vigilianum, Centro Culturale della Diocesi di Trento.

Nei due incontri, l’autore del libro, insieme al nipote don Carlo Tissot e all'arcivescovo emerito Mons. Luigi Bressan hanno introdotto la prima biografia missionaria del Vescovo di Zhengzhou (Henan, Cina 1947 – 1953).

La biografia di p. Gabriele si basa sostanzialmente sulla corrispondenza di Mons. Tissot dal tempo della sua formazione alla fine della sua vita.

Dai suoi scritti, il confratello appare come una persona che amava la sua vocazione ed era "contentissimo" della sua missione anche quando questa gli costava trasferimenti, paure, sofferenza come ben appare anche dal racconto. Le sue lettere rivelano una persona spirituale nel senso autentico della parola, e cioè guidata dallo Spirito.

Il contenuto della sua corrispondenza, inoltre, mostra una persona che esternamente poteva sembrare riservata e perfino burbera, ma che aveva una grande sensibilità verso tutti, per i suoi compaesani (l'hanno affermato gli stessi concittadini al momento della presentazione del libro a Transacqua), per i confratelli e per l'Istituto. Quanto questo confratello ha aiutato il superiore generale p. Castelli nel suo servizio! P. Faustino Tissot era un confratello umile e obbediente, generoso e discreto che ha amato fino alla fine il popolo cinese di cui aveva studiato con amore e padronanza la lingua. 

On October 5^th-6^th, Vita Trentina, the news weekly of the Diocese of Trento chaired a panel convened to present the book Contentissimo di essere in Cina (Very Happy To Be In China) written by Fr. Gabriele Ferrari s.x. and published by ViTrenD. The meeting took place in the church of Transacqua (Primiero, Trento, Italy), native village of Msgr. Faustino Tissot s.x.. Another presentation of the book was held in Vigilianum, the Cultural Centre of the Diocese of Trento.

During the two meetings, the author of the book, together with the nephew of Msgr. Tissot, Fr. Carlo Tissot, and the Archbishop emeritus Msgr. Luigi Bressan, introduced the first missionary biography of the late Bishop of Zhengzhou (Henan, China, 1947-1953).

The biography penned by Fr. Gabriele is in essence based on the correspondence kept up by Msgr. Tissot from the period of his formation to the end of his life.

His writings disclose a confrere who loved his vocation, who was contentissimo (very happy) about his mission, even when mission caused him relocations, fears and sufferings, as the narration well illustrates. His letters reveal a spiritual person in the true sense of the word, that is, led by the Spirit.

Moreover, the content of his letters shows a person who, while outwardly quite reserved or even gruff, was in fact of great attention towards all, including his fellow villagers (as they confirmed during the presentation of the book in Transacqua), his confreres and his Institute. He was truly a great help to the Superior General, Fr. Castelli, in his service to the congregation! Fr. Faustino Tissot was a humble, obedient and discreet confrere; till the end, he loved the Chinese people, whose language he had studied with fondness and mastery.
