Roma, 30 marzo: nella celebrazione dell’Eucarestia è stata chiesta l’intercessione del Fondatore nel giorno del 150° anniversario della sua nascita. Nell’omelia P. Menegazzo ha ricordato che l’esempio di santità del Fondatore è motivo di speranza per la nostra Famiglia. È necessario imitarlo e averlo come modello, perché la santità va costruita nella quotidiana fedeltà a Dio: questo lui ci insegna. Nella misura in cui siamo fedeli alla Consacrazione saremo anche annunciatori che attraggono a Cristo coloro che non lo conoscono e anche coloro che desiderano seguirlo ad vitam come saveriani.

La Direttrice Generale ha inviato una lettera di auguri auspicando che S. Guido interceda per tutti noi lo “spirito di viva fede che ci faccia veder Dio, cercar Dio, amar Dio in tutto, acuendo in noi il desiderio di propagare ovunque il suo Regno”.

Yakarta, studentato 30 marzo: abbiamo festeggiato i 150 anni dalla nascita di San Guido unendo i festeggiamenti per i compleanni di due studenti. Presente P. Marini, sesto successore di Conforti come Superiore Generale.
ITALIA
Parma, 30 marzo: un buon numero di confratelli delle comunità di Parma, insieme con una rappresentanza delle Sorelle ed Amici saveriani, ha partecipato al pellegrinaggio alla parrocchia di Ravadese e poi a Casalora nel 150° anniversario della nascita e del battesimo del Fondatore. P. E. Pulcini rappresentava la DG. Anche il vescovo Solmi ha voluto portare la sua partecipazione durante le Lodi mattutine. Un pranzo di festa ha raccolto tutti in amicizia e riconoscenza al Signore per il dono della nostra famiglia missionaria.
BURUNDI
Bujumbura, 30 marzo: la Comunità di formazione e animazione missionaria e vocazionale è stata il centro della celebrazione del 150° anniversario della nascita del Fondatore. La serata, iniziata con l’Eucarestia e proseguita in un’agape fraterna si è conclusa a notte fonda tra canti, scritti e eseguiti dai nostri giovani, composizioni poetiche, danze locali e ricordi della vita del Fondatore. Una serata tipica saveriana che difficilmente si dimentica. Gli altri confratelli, per l’occasione, nelle rispettive comunità hanno animato momenti di preghiera.

PUBBLICAZIONI
È uscito di padre Renato Filippini “Incontrare Gesù. Gustare la gioia dell’evento Gesù”. Una raccolta di 24 testi di lectio divina, mensilmente preparata per un gruppo di laici di Kagoshima.

Quest’anno non si celebreranno battesimi per via dell’ebola. Così i vescovi hanno consigliato per evitare ogni contatto fisico che può essere veicolo di contagio. È un momento di sofferenza ma speriamo che anche questo porti nuovi ed abbondanti frutti qui ed altrove!
“Questa mattina, 31 marzo, abbiamo finito tre giorni di clausura disposta dal governo per ridurre a zero i casi di ebola. Non ci sono stati grossi problemi se non che i casi persistono e durante questi tre giorni ce n’era uno anche vicino alla casa religiosa di Makeni. Per fortuna sono sempre di meno e speriamo che presto scompaiano definitivamente” (P. Carlo di Sopra).

Rome, 30 Mar: during the celebration of the Eucharist, we asked the Founder to intercede for us on the 150th anniversary of his birth. In his homily, Fr. Menegazzo reminded us that the holiness of the Founder is a source of hope for our Family. We must imitate him and take him as our model because holiness is built in our daily fidelity to God. If we are faithful to our Consecration, we will also be messengers who draw to Christ those who do not know him, and also those who desire to follow him ad vitam as Xaverians.
MISSIONARIES OF MARY
The Superior General of the sisters has sent us a letter with greetings, expressing the hope that St. Guido Maria Conforti will obtain for us “the spirit of living faith that enables us to see, love and seek God in all, and intensifies our desire to spread his Kingdom everywhere”.

Yakarta, 30 Mar: the student community celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Founder’s birth and the birthdays of two students. With us was Fr. Marini, the sixth successor of Conforti as Superior General.
ITALY
Parma, 30 Mar: a good number of confreres of the Parma communities, together with representatives of the Xaverian Sisters and Xaverian Friends, took part in a pilgrimage to the parish of Ravadese and then to Casalora, to mark the 150th anniversary of the Founder’s birth and baptism. Fr. Eugenio Pulcini represented the General Direction and the bishop of Parma, Enrico Solmi, was also present at the celebration of Lauds. The occasion ended with a celebratory meal, thanking the Lord for the gift of our missionary family.
BURUNDI
Bujumbura, 30 Mar: the community of formation and missionary-vocation animation celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Founder’s birth. The evening began with the Eucharist, followed by a meal that went on until late at night, with songs composed and performed by our young students, poems composed for the occasion, local dances and memories from the life of our Founder.
The other confreres celebrated the anniversary in their local communities with moments of prayer.
INDONESIA
Jakarta, 28 Mar: the student community hosted a debate on the topic Terrorism in Indonesia. Solahuddin, a journalist, was the main speaker at the event.

Sierra Leone
This year no baptisms will be celebrated because of the Ebola epidemic. The bishops gave this advice in order to avoid any physical contact that might spread the disease. This is a time of suffering, but we hope that it will lead to new and abundant fruits here and elsewhere!
Fr. Carlo Di Sopra writes: “This morning, 31 March, we ended three days of seclusion decreed by the government to reduce to zero the cases of Ebola. The problem persists and there was even one new case during these three days in the vicinity of the Regional House in Makeni. Thankfully, the numbers are decreasing and we hope that the disease will soon be completely wiped out”.

Satkhira: at Easter 25 baptisms will be celebrated, all of them adults, or almost adults. We hope and pray for their perseverance in the faith.
