GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY Fr. GIACOMO RIGALI, SX
Members of the Philippine Delegation in coordination with people of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Maligaya Novaliches, gathered last Sunday, October 15, to celebrate the golden priestly ordination of one of our dear confreres, Fr. Giacomo Rigali, popularly known as “Lolo” (Nonno).
Fr. Rigali expressed his gratitude to God and the people he led as parish priest until last year. He summarized his service as priest in some simple words “Huwag kayong umatras” (Do not give up, Do not say no). He invited the assembly to be always available to the will of God in the service or ministry entrusted to everyone. At the end we know that the mission belongs to God, to the Holy Spirit.
The homily of Fr. Rigali really pictures his whole life of availability to the congregation and the mission of the Church. This is a good example to our congregation and especially to our young priests.
The celebration ended with a SALU-SALO (sharing) and an artistic program organized by our parishioners.
Our Delegation and the whole Congregation are thankful to God and to Fr. Rigali for the example of Mission and his untired availability to our Xaverian Family.
