2003-2023: STORIA DELLA PARROCCHIA “SAINT FRANÇOIS XAVIER” DI NDOSHO (Goma, Nord-Kivu, RDC)

Il 13 aprile 2003, † Mons. Faustin Ngabu (dal 1974 al 2010 vescovo di Goma, Nord-Kivu, RDC) eresse la parrocchia “Saint François Xavier” di Ndosho (un quartiere della città di Goma) affidandola alla cura pastorale dei Missionari Saveriani (tuttora presenti in questa parrocchia).
In occasione del 20° anniversario della creazione della parrocchia “Saint François Xavier” il Consiglio Parrocchiale decise di pubblicare un libretto: “Histoire de la paroisse St François Xavier à 20 ans d’existence - Quelques repères historiques de la paroisse St François Xavier à Ndosho/Goma - RDC” (Storia della parrocchia “Saint François Xavier” a 20 anni d’esistenza – Alcuni riferimenti storici della parrocchia “Saint François Xavier” a Ndosho/Goma - RDC).
“…. questa parrocchia è ed è sempre stata un vero luogo d'incontro: incontro tra uomini e donne alla ricerca di Dio, il loro unico necessario, incontro con San Francesco Saverio e la sua opera principalmente attraverso i suoi attuali figli e figlie, incontro con Dio attraverso la vita di preghiera e i sacramenti della sua Chiesa. È in questa prospettiva che la storia di questa comunità vivente e vivificante ha davvero il diritto di circolare tra le mani dei suoi figli e figlie, tra le mani di uomini e donne di buona volontà, per conservarne il ricordo al fine di apprezzare correttamente il presente e proiettare il futuro con fede, speranza e carità…”. 2003-2023: HISTORY OF SAINT FRANÇOIS XAVIER PARISH IN NDOSHO (Goma, North Kivu, DRC)
On April 13, 2003, † Monsignor Faustin Ngabu (Bishop of Goma, North Kivu, DRC from 1974 to 2010) established the parish of Saint François Xavier in Ndosho (a district of the city of Goma, RDC), entrusting it to the pastoral care of the Xaverian Missionaries (who are still present in this parish).
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the creation of the parish of Saint François Xavier, the Parish Council decided to publish a booklet: ‘Histoire de la paroisse St François Xavier à 20 ans d'existence - Quelques repères historiques de la paroisse St François Xavier à Ndosho/Goma - RDC’ (History of Saint François Xavier parish after 20 years of existence - Some historical references of Saint François Xavier parish in Ndosho/Goma - DRC).
“... this parish is and always has been a true meeting place: a meeting place for men and women seeking God, their only necessity; a meeting place with St Francis Xavier and his work, mainly through his present-day sons and daughters; a meeting place with God through the life of prayer and the sacraments of his Church. It is in this perspective that the history of this living and life-giving community truly has the right to circulate among the hands of its sons and daughters, among the hands of men and women of good will, to preserve its memory in order to appreciate the present correctly and project the future with faith, hope and charity...".
