“La presenza Saveriana in Africa in un momento di grandi cambiamenti. Quali percorsi di speranza?" è il tema della seconda COSUMA-AFRICA riunita a Bafoussam, Camerun. All’incontro partecipano i Superiori Maggiori di Repubblica Democratica del Congo, Burundi, Mozambico, Camerun, Ciad e Sierra Leone. La Direzione Generale è rappresentata da p. Fernando García Rodríguez (Superiore Generale), p. Mauro Loda (Vicario Generale) e p. Fabien Kalehezo T'Chiribuka (Consigliere Generale).

La mattinata è stata dedicata alla condivisione sul tema: “Pellegrini della speranza al cuore della vita consacrata in Africa oggi: sfide e speranze". La facilitatrice è stata suor Geneviève Yano della Congregazione delle Suore della Santa Unione. Nel suo intervento ha ricordato che la comunità è il primo luogo della missione. Parlando delle sfide attuali della vita consacrata in Africa, la suora ci ha invitato a riflettere sull'accompagnamento delle vocazioni nel contesto africano, un tessuto lacerato da tanti mali. La mattinata si è conclusa con la celebrazione dell’Eucaristia.

Nel pomeriggio, abbiamo ascoltato il Superiore Regionale della circoscrizione Saveriana del Camerun e il Superiore Generale che hanno introdotto i lavori e gli scambi. Dopo i loro interventi c’è stato un tempo di condivisione sulle sfide attuali nelle nostre missioni (Mozambico, Burundi e Sierra Leone). (Antoine Ntabala Ntamwira sx)

“Xaverian presence in Africa at a time of great changes. Which paths of hope?” is the theme of the second African Cosuma convened in Bafossam, Cameroon. This meeting is attended by the Major Superiors of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Mozambique, Cameroon, Chad, and Sierra Leone. The General Direction is represented by Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez (Superior General), Fr. Mauro Loda (Vicar General) and Fr. Fabien Kalehezo T’Chiribuka (General Councillor).

The morning was spent in sharing ideas on the theme “Pilgrims of hope at the centre of consecrated life in Africa today: challenges and hopes.” Facilitator of this meeting was Sr. Geneviève Yano of the Holy Union Sisters. In her talk she reminded us that the community is the first place of mission. Speaking about the current challenges of consecrated life in Africa, the Sister invited us to reflect on the need to accompany vocations in the African context which is torn apart by many evils. The morning ended with a Eucharistic celebration.

In the afternoon, we listened to the Regional Superior of the Xaverian circumscription of Cameroon and the Superior General, who introduced the work and discussion. Their talks were followed by time of discussion on the present challenges in our missions (Mozambique, Burundi and Sierra Leone).  (Antoine Ntabala Ntamwira sx)
