TAVERNERIO 23-25 SETTEMBRE 2021.

I giorni 23-25 ottobre ha avuto luogo a Tavernerio la COSUMA Europa. All’incontro erano presenti i Superiori delle rispettive Circoscrizioni: Italia: Alfredo Turco sx e Mauro Loda sx; Spagna: Carlos Collantes Díez sx e Benjamin Gómez Sala sx; United Kingdom: Jim Clarke sx e John Convery sx; Delegazione Centrale: Oliviero Verzeletti sx e Paolo Tovo sx; Direzione generale: Fernando García Rodríguez sx, Mario Mula sx e Javier Peguero Pérez sx. Al centro della riflessione c’era la domanda che ha guidato i lavori dei partecipanti: in continuità con i Capitoli Generali XVI e XVII, in EUROPA, quale risposta, come saveriani, alla Missione ad gentes? Nel tentativo di rispondere a questa domanda, all’ordine del giorno c’erano i tre argomenti principali: a) l’attuale contesto socioculturale europeo e la situazione della Chiesa e dei Saveriani in questo contesto, b) l’identità carismatica dei Saveriani (l’ad gentes in Europa, l’interculturalità, i laici), c) gli impegni dei Saveriani in Europa (la parrocchia missionaria, dialogo interreligioso ed ecumenico, migranti e rifugiati e il Forum europeo).

L’incontro si è caratterizzato per la fraternità e il forte desiderio di rispondere il meglio possibile come Saveriani alle sfide che provengono dal continente europeo. (Javier Peguero Pérez sx)

TAVERNERIO, SEPTEMBER 23-25, 2021.

On September 23^rd-25^th, the Europe CoSuMa took place in Tavernerio. The Meeting was attended by the Xaverian Superiors of the respective Circumscriptions: Italy: Fr. Alfredo Turco s.x. and Fr. Mauro Loda s.x.; Spain: Fr. Carlos Collantes Díez s.x. and Fr. Benjamin Gómez Sala s.x.; United Kingdom: Fr. Jim Clarke s.x. and Fr. John Convery s.x.; Central Delegation: Fr. Oliviero Verzeletti s.x. and Fr. Paolo Tovo s.x.; General Direction: Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez, s.x., Fr. Mario Mula s.x., Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez s.x. At the center of the reflection was the question that has guided the participants’ work: “In continuity with the General Chapter XVI and XVII, in EUROPE, what is the response that, as Xaverians, we have to give to the Mission ad Gentes?” In an attempt to answer this question, three main topics were placed on the Agenda: a) The current European socio-cultural context and the situation of the Church and the Xaverians within this context; b) The charismatic identity of the Xaverians (the ‘ad Gentes’ in Europe, interculturality, the laity); c) The commitments of the Xaverians in Europe (missionary parish, interreligious and ecumenical dialogue, migrants and refugees, and the European Forum).

The meeting was characterized by fraternity and a strong desire to respond, to the best of our abilities as Xaverians, to the challenges that come from the European continent.  (Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez s.x.).
