LITURGIA PENITENZIALE.

Mercoledì 29 settembre, alle ore 18:00, l’assemblea della Cosuma ha celebrato con intensità e partecipazione la Liturgia Penitenziale dell’Anno Giubilare saveriano. La celebrazione era stata preparata dalla DG, con l’aiuto di alcuni confratelli ed è stata presieduta da p. Fernando García R. Era una attività prevista per la Quaresima 2021, ma le conseguenze della pandemia ci hanno impedito di poter organizzarla in modo che avvenisse più o meno contemporaneamente in tutte le Circoscrizioni. A partire dalla domanda: perché una celebrazione penitenziale alla vigilia della chiusura dell’anno giubilare? questo momento di preghiera è stato annunciato da P. Fernando García R. all’assemblea della Cosuma il giorno prima, in modo che si arrivasse tutti spiritualmente preparati.

Nella storia saveriana, nella nostra Famiglia missionaria, insieme alla grazia di Dio c’è anche la realtà del male. La grazia e il peccato camminano insieme nella nostra vita concreta di ogni giorno, a partire dal 3 dicembre 1895. Diceva P. Fernando García R. che è molto importante prendere coscienza del fardello che ci portiamo dietro, del male fatto agli altri e causato da noi, del fatto che ci sono persone che soffrono tutta la vita a causa del male fatto da qualcuno di noi.  Il male è presente, anche tra di noi. “Che il Signore ci dia la grazia di riconoscere il male”. È un gesto che dobbiamo fare, come Famiglia, perché Dio Padre sa come siamo fatti e non dimentica che siamo polvere; il Suo amore dura per sempre per quelli che lo amano e rispettano (Sal. 103,14.17).

Chiediamo alle Circoscrizioni di trovare l’opportunità - assemblea, capitolo, un ritiro, Festa di San Guido Conforti, … - quando i confratelli sono tutti insieme, per poter celebrare questa Liturgia Penitenziale saveriana. Il testo guida sarà messo a disposizione di tutti.

PENITENTIAL LITURGY.

Wednesday, September 29^th, 6:00 p.m., the assembly of the CoSuMa celebrated with intense participation the Penitential Service of the Xaverian Jubilee Year. This celebration, that had been prepared by the GD with the help of some confreres, was presided by Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez. Originally scheduled for the Lent period of 2021, the pandemic had made it impossible to organize this event in a way that would have allowed all Circumscriptions to celebrate it approximately at the same time. Starting with the question ‘Why a penitential service at the eve of the closure of the Jubilee year?’, Fr. Fernando García R. announced this moment of prayer one day before, so that all members of the CoSuMa assembly could prepare spiritually to its celebration.

In the history of our missionary Family, along with God’s grace there is also the reality of evil. Since December 3^rd, 1895, grace and sin have been walking together in the concrete reality of our daily lives. Fr. Fernando García R. emphasised the importance to become aware of the burden that we carry with us, of the evil that we have caused to others, of the fact that there are persons who suffer for their entire lives because of the evil some of us has done. Evil is present; it is in our midst too. “May the Lord grant us to be able to recognize evil.” This is a gesture that, as a family, we must do since God the Father “knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust; … His love for those who fear and respect him is from eternity and for ever (Ps. 103: 14.17).

We ask the Circumscriptions to find an occasion when all confreres are together – for instance, an assembly, a chapter, a retreat, the Feast of St Guido M. Conforti, or others – and celebrate this Xaverian Penitential Liturgy. The guide of this celebration will soon be available to all confreres.
