La comunità saveriana di Salerno ha onorato i 101 anni di vita di p. Francesco Cavallo (classe 1920) con l’Eucaristia presieduta dallo stesso festeggiato. Nella sua breve omelia, l’ultracentenario ha ringraziato il Signore per il dono della vita, del battesimo, del sacerdozio; della misericordia del Signore; per aver avuto la comunità nella quale mi trovo da trent’anni e per aver i confratelli, che per me, sono di esempio. Padre Cavallo, attualmente è il Saveriano più anziano della Congregazione. Entrato dai saveriani all’età di 21 anni, l’8 settembre 1941 ha fatto la sua prima professione religiosa (numero di professione: 293!). La maggior parte dei suoi anni li ha spesi in Italia come formatore e negli ultimi trent’anni come padre spirituale, confessore di tantissime persone e anche esorcista.

Al mattino quando entra nel refettorio e gli rivolgiamo il buon giorno, la risposta preferita di p. Francesco è Felicità.

The Xaverian Community of Salerno has honored the 101 years of life of Fr. Francesco Cavallo, s.x. (Born in 1920), with the Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by the same birthday boy.  In his brief homily, the 101-year-old thanked the Lord for the gift of life, Baptism, Priesthood; of the Lord’s mercy; for having had the community in which I have been for thirty years and for having the confreres, who for me, are an example.  Fr. Cavallo, s.x. is currently the oldest Xaverian in the Congregation.  He joined the Xaverians at the age of 21, and, on September 8^th – 1941, celebrated his First Religious Missionary Profession (Profession Number: 293!).  Most of his years were spent in Italy as a Formation Person.  In the last 30 years, Fr. Cavallo has been spiritual father, confessor for many people, and also exorcist.  In the morning, when he enters the dining room and we turn to him to wish him a good morning, the preferred answer of Fr. Francesco is: Happiness!
