“Mi chiamo Teresa e da tre anni dedico tutte le mattine del sabato al volontariato… Nel 2019 qualcuno mi ha presentato, insieme a mio marito e alla nostra bambina, alla comunità Saveriana di Khlong Toey, Bangkok. Un’esperienza che ha aperto i nostri occhi verso chi vive a Bangkok, nella povertà. Grazie ai saveriani Edgar Nava Pérez, Alex Brai, Erasto Torres Carpio ed Augustin Byamungu Mahanga, nonché agli straordinari volontari tailandesi che li assistono, abbiamo imparato ciò che significa la forza della fede; abbiamo apprezzato la loro incrollabile dedizione nel prendersi cura dei bambini e accogliere volontari provenienti da tutto il mondo. Essi spendono i loro giorni nelle baraccopoli, irradiando amore, grazie alla loro fede nel Signore.

“My name is Teresa. For three years I have been dedicating every Saturday morning to volunteering… In 2019, someone introduced my husband, our little daughter and me to the Xaverian community of Khlong Toey, Bangkok. What followed was an experience that opened our eyes to the poor living in Bangkok. Thanks to the Xaverians fathers Edgar Nava Pérez, Alex Brai, Erasto Torres Carpio and Augustin Byamungu Mahanga, and to the extraordinary Thai volunteers that help them, we learned what the strength of faith means; we appreciated their dedication in taking care of children and in welcoming volunteers from all over the world. Out of faith in the Lord, they spend their days radiating love in the slums.
