La Messa di apertura dell’anno di Pre-noviziato 2022-2023 è stata celebrata a Kilomoni il 14 Ottobre 2022, Giorno dei Martiri Saveriani. La celebrazione è stata presieduta dal Superiore Regionale, p. Bernard Cibambo che, dopo una parola di benvenuto, ha chiesto ai 28 pre-novizi di considerare con serietà la loro vocazione, li ha invitati a chiedersi sempre qual è il motivo the li ha spinti a lasciare i loro rispettivi paesi e famiglie. Ha quindi raccomandato loro di lasciarsi sempre trasformare da Dio, e di lasciarsi ispirare dall’esempio e testimonianza dei nostri martiri…
La peculiarità di questo anno sta nel fatto che, oltre agli 8 novizi i quali continuano il loro Noviziato qui a Kilomoni, vi è pure la presenza di 28 giovani provenienti dal Burundi (12), Camerun (5), R.D. Congo (8), Ciad (2) e Sierra Leone (1). Alcuni di loro hanno completato gli studi di filosofia, mentre altri provengono direttamente dalla propedeutica. La loro presenza realizza la ristrutturazione della formazione iniziale nelle Circoscrizioni dell’Africa – ovvero l’anticipazione del pre-noviziato e del noviziato rispetto agli studi di filosofia – come formulata negli orientamenti della Direzione Generale e dal recente incontro dei formatori a Bujumbura… (Valentin Shukuru Bihaira s.x.)
KILOMONI, UVIRA – D.R. CONGO: THE BEGINNING OF THE PRE-NOVITIATE
The opening mass of the Pre-novitiate Year 2022-2023 was celebrated on Xaverian Martyrs Day, October 14th, 2022 in Kilomoni. The Mass was presided over by the Regional Superior, Fr. Bernard Cibambo who, after a word of welcome, asked the 28 Pre-novices to take their vocation seriously, inviting them to always ask themselves why they left their respective countries and families. He urged them to always let themselves be transformed by God and inspired by the example and testimony of our martyrs…
The particularity of this year, in addition to the 8 Novices who continue their Novitiate here in Kilomoni, is the presence of these 28 young people from Burundi (12), Cameroon (5), D. R. Congo (8), Chad (2) and Sierra Leone (1). Some have completed their philosophical studies while others come straight from Propaedeutics. Their presence materializes the restructuring of initial formation in the Circumscriptions of Africa, as formulated in the orientations of the General Direction and the recent meeting of the formators in Bujumbura, i.e. placing the stages of Pre-novitiate and Novitiate before the Philosophy… (Valentin Shukuru Bihaira s.x.)
