Buyengero - Burundi 

Mons. Salvator Niciteretse, vescovo di Bururi (Burundi), ha presieduto la messa a Buyengero venerdì 30 settembre 2022, commemorando l’anniversario della morte dei Servi di Dio (30.09.1995). Hanno partecipato tutti i Saveriani di Bujumbura, tranne i nostri confratelli più anziani, p. Giovanni Carrara sx e p. Modesto Todeschi sx, per ragioni di salute. Insieme ai Saveriani, c’erano anche 12 dei nostri candidati e una ventina di laici e laici saveriani. Sono state raccolte tutte le intenzioni di preghiera affidateci da molti amici. Insieme alla condivisione del superiore della circoscrizione saveriana del Burundi sono stati letti i saluti inviati dai familiari dei Servi di Dio e tradotti in Kirundi da p. Mario Pulcini sx. Gambellara – Vicenza: Parrocchia “San Pietro Apostolo”

Sabato 1° ottobre 2022, la comunità parrocchiale di San Pietro Apostolo in Gambellara (VI), ha organizzato una celebrazione eucaristica, come ogni anno, nello spazio dei giorni vicini all’anniversario della morte di Servi di Dio Ottorino Maule (battezzato in questa chiesa), Aldo Marchiol e Catina Gubert e di altri Servi morti in Burundi. Insieme al parroco, erano presenti anche 4 saveriani della comunità di Vicenza. P. Faustino Turco sx, Postulatore Generale, durante la celebrazione, ha condiviso con i fedeli i passi fatti recentemente a proposito della causa super martyrium dei 44 Servi di Dio. Il 30 agosto scorso, gli atti dell’inchiesta diocesana sono giunti alla Congregazione dei Santi e si attende ora il Decreto di validità giuridica e l’assegnazione del Relatore incaricato di seguire la causa in fase romana.

Dopo la Messa, è seguita la cena con il gruppo famiglie – circa una settantina di persone - della parrocchia San Pietro Apostolo che ha notevolmente contribuito a creare un ambiente di fraternità e di giovinezza in compagnia degli amici Servi di Dio Ottorino, Aldo e Catina. (Faustino Turco, sx)

Buyengero, Burundi

On Friday, September 30^th, 2022, Msgr. Salvator Niciteretse, Bishop of Bururi (Burundi), presided over a Mass in Buyengero to commemorate the anniversary of the death of the Servants of God (d. September 30^th, 1995). With the exception of the oldest confreres, Fr. Giovanni Carrara s.x., and Fr. Modesto Todeschi, who was absent due to health problems, all Xaverians in Bujumbura took part in the celebration. Twelve of our candidates and about 20 lay Christians and members of the Xaverian laity joined the Xaverians for the celebration. We gathered all the prayer intentions that many friends entrusted to us. The address given by the superior of the Xaverian Circumscription of Burundi and the greetings sent by the relatives of the Servants of God were read and translated in Kirundi by Fr. Mario Pulcini s.x.. (Gabriel Basuzwa s.x.)

Gambellara, Vicenza (Italy): St Peter the Apostle Parish

On Saturday, October 1^st, 2022, the parish community of St Peter the Apostle in Gambellara (Vicenza, Italy) organised a Eucharistic celebration, which every year is held on a convenient day near the anniversary of the death of the Servants of God Ottorino Maule (who was baptised in that church), Aldo Marchiol and Catina Gubert, and the other Servants who died in Burundi. The parish priest and four Xaverians from the Community in Vicenza were present at the celebration. During the Mass, Fr. Faustino Turco s.x., General Postulator, gave the faithful an account of the steps recently made for the advancement of the canonization super martyrium of the 44 Servants of God. On August 30^th, the acts of the diocesan inquiry were passed to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and now we are waiting for the Decree of Legal Validity (Decreto di validità giuridica) and the appointment of a Relator in charge of following the canonization cause during its Roman phase.

The Mass was followed by a dinner with the ‘Families’ Group – about seventy people – belonging to the parish of St Peter the Apostle. They contributed to the creation of a mood of fraternity and youthfulness in the company of the friends of the Servants of God Ottorino, Aldo and Catina. (Faustino Turco s.x.)
