Varie Associazioni diocesane di Parma, la Comunità di S. Egidio, il Consiglio delle Chiese Cristiane di Parma, insieme ai Missionari/e Saveriani/e hanno aderito all’iniziativa e partecipato alla preghiera presso il Santuario San Guido Maria Conforti, Domenica 05 marzo 2023.

La Gazzetta di Parma ha dedicato una pagina intera a questa iniziativa ecclesiale. Scrive il giornale, il momento più toccante della veglia è stata la processione silenziosa verso l’altare, durante la quale sono stati posati a terra settanta lumini ai piedi della croce, tanti quanti i migranti  morti nel naufragio di Cutro. La preghiera ospitata nel Santuario Conforti è stata ricca di silenzi, testimonianze e spunti di riflessione che hanno toccato il cuore di tantissimi presenti, appartenenti a svariati credo religiosi… Durante la veglia, Wadih Marroush, rifugiato siriano di 28 anni, arrivato a Parma grazie ai corridoi umanitari e alla comunità di Sant’Egidio, ha portato la sua toccante testimonianza: “la guerra provoca molte vittime, ma soprattutto profughi. Si tratta di 11 milioni di persone che sono fuggite o stanno fuggendo dalla nostra terra martoriata… chi parte lo fa perché è disperato e non ha più una speranza…” 

Several Diocesan Associations of Parma, the Community of Sant’ Egidio, the Council of Christian Churches in Parma, along with the Xaverian Missionaries and Xaverian Sisters, promoted and took part in a prayer vigil at St Guido M. Conforti Shrine, on Sunday, March 5^th, 2023.

The daily Gazzetta di Parma dedicated an entire page to this ecclesial initiative. The newspaper writes: The most touching moment of the vigil was the silent procession to the altar, with the laying of seventy little lights on the ground at the foot of the cross, as many as the dead in the shipwreck of Cutro. The prayer held in the Conforti Shrine was rich in silence, witnesses and food for thoughts which moved the hearts of the many in attendance – people belonging to various religious faiths… During the vigil, Wadih Marroush, a 28-year-old Syrian refugee, who arrived in Parma thanks to human corridors and the Community of Sant’Egidio, gave a poignant witness: “War causes many victims, especially refugees. We are talking of 11 million people that fled or are fleeing our tormented land… one leaves because he or she is desperate and is left without any hope…”
