Segnaliamo qui la Lettera di papa Francesco rivolta ai sacerdoti della Diocesi di Roma (la diocesi del papa) il 05 agosto 2023 (Memoria della Dedicazione della Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore), invitando il ‘suo’ clero a “spogliarci delle nostre sicurezze mondane e ‘clericali’ ” per “farci servi del Popolo di Dio e non padroni, lavare i piedi ai fratelli e non schiacciarli sotto i nostri piedi…”
POPE’S LETTER TO THE PRIESTS OF THE DIOCESE OF ROME (Lisbon, August 5th, 2023)
We suggest reading the Letter which Pope Francis addressed to the priests of the Diocese of Rome (the diocese of the Pope) on August 7th, 2023, Memorial of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. Mary Major. Through the letter, the Pope invited ‘his’ clergy “to strip ourselves of our worldly and ‘clerical’ certainties” in order to become “servants of God’s people, not its masters, and wash the brothers’ feet instead of crushing them under our feet…”
