Giovedì 25 giugno 2026 i confratelli residenti in Viale Vaticano 40 hanno accolto la Conferenza Episcopale Bengalese in visita ad limina a Roma. I 9 vescovi si sono uniti alla comunità per l’Adorazione eucaristica. Insieme abbiamo pregato e riflettuto sul testo confortiano “Il Crocefisso è il grande libro sul quale si sono formati i Santi e sul quale noi pure dobbiamo formarci. Tutti gl’insegnamenti contenuti nel S. Vangelo sono compendiati nel Crocefisso. Esso ci parla con una eloquenza che non ha l'eguale: coll'eloquenza del sangue… Sant’Alfonso poteva ben scrivere ai piedi di un Crocefisso queste parole: Così si ama!... [Il Crocefisso] è il punto più elevato che dischiude allo sguardo immensi infiniti orizzonti…”.

I testi erano stati preparati in italiano ed in inglese da p. Cesar da Silva, curando anche la presidenza della stessa preghiera eucaristica. 

È seguita la cena con pizza, affettati, verdura, frutta e gelato, preparata dai confratelli Luigi Pinna e Maurizio Zenere. Durante la cena, da un capo all’altro delle tavole, i vescovi hanno ricordato il volto umano del Saveriano, facendo memoria personale di nomi, esperienze, incontri con confratelli già deceduti e vivi. I vescovi hanno anche condiviso alcune esperienze di quand’erano ancora ragazzi e i loro primi contatti con i Saveriani. I pp Cassien Nshimirimana e Valentin Shukuru Bihaira hanno rappresentato tutti i convegnisti sul Volto umano del Saveriano, riuniti a Parma.  (Yakobus Sriyatmoko sx)

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the confreres residing at Viale Vaticano 40, welcomed the Bishops’ Conference of Bangladesh, which was in Rome for its ad limina visit. The nine bishops joined the community for the Eucharistic Adoration. Together, we prayed and reflected on the text by Conforti. The Crucifix is the great book upon which the saints were formed and upon which we, too, must be formed. All the teachings contained in the Holy Gospel are summarized in the Crucifix. It speaks to us with unparalleled eloquence: the eloquence of blood… St. Alphonsus could well have written these words at the foot of a Crucifix: This is how one loves!... [The Crucifix] is the highest point that opens up immense, infinite horizons to the gaze. 

The texts had been prepared in Italian and English by Fr. Cesar da Silva, who also led the Eucharistic prayer. 

This was followed by dinner including pizza, salami, vegetables, fruit, and ice cream, prepared by our confreres Luigi Pinna and Maurizio Zenere. During dinner, from one end of the tables to the other, the bishops recalled the human traits of the Xaverian, specifically mentioning names, experiences, and encounters with confreres both living and deceased. The bishops also shared some experiences from their youth and their first encounters with the Xaverians.
