Nella sua catechesi di mercoledì 4 febbraio scorso, Leone XIV ci ha ricordato che la Bibbia è “parola di Dio in parole umane”. Questa affermazione cruciale nasce dalla lettura attenta della Dei Verbum, un documento che ha radicalmente modificato l’approccio della Chiesa alle Scritture, e questo nel momento in cui i padri conciliari si richiamano alle Scritture stesse, trasmesse e interpretate all’interno della tradizione vivente della Chiesa. Papa Leone XIV si è fermato su alcuni aspetti provenienti dai numeri 11-13 del documento conciliare e in modo particolare proprio sulla dimensione divina e umana della Bibbia.

In his catechesis on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Leo XIV reminded us that the Bible is “the word of God in human words.” This crucial statement comes from a careful reading of Dei Verbum, a document that radically changed the Church's approach to Scripture, at a time when the Council Fathers referred to Scripture itself, transmitted and interpreted within the living tradition of the Church. Pope Leo XIV focused on certain aspects from numbers 11-13 of the conciliar document, particularly on the divine and human dimensions of the Bible.
