Il 25 giugno 2026, i Responsabili delle religioni che sono in Italia sottoscriveranno un Patto per dare continuità e prospettiva al lavoro compiuto, rendendo al contempo ufficiale l’esperienza chiamata “La via italiana del dialogo. Le religioni nello spazio pubblico e per la coesione sociale”.

La firma del Patto, in programma a Roma, presso l’Auditorium dell’Ara Pacis, rappresenta una tappa fondamentale del percorso intrapreso nell’ambito del Cammino sinodale delle Chiese che sono in Italia. A partire dal 2023, infatti, i leader delle religioni diffuse nel Paese, si sono incontrati annualmente nella sede della Conferenza Episcopale Italiana, avviando una riflessione comune sulla necessità di essere, nello spazio pubblico, una risorsa capace di tessere dialogo, comunione e pace. Nel 2024, anche alcuni giovani, delegati dai responsabili delle religioni, si sono ritrovati periodicamente per discutere e lavorare insieme, partecipando dallo scorso anno alle riunioni ufficiali e diventando, sui territori, ambasciatori di processi di conoscenza reciproca e di sensibilizzazione.

Il cammino di confronto tra i leader ha portato alla firma del Patto. A siglarlo saranno: Istituto Buddista Italiano Soka Gakkai; Assemblea Spirituale Nazionale dei Bahá’í d’Italia; Sikhi Sewa Society; Istituto Tevere; Confederazione Islamica Italiana; Comunità Religiosa Islamica Italiana; Assemblea dei Rabbini d’Italia; Sacra Arcidiocesi Ortodossa d’Italia; Centro Islamico culturale d’Italia; Unione delle Comunità Islamiche d’Italia; Unione Induista Italiana; Unione delle Comunità Ebraiche Italiane; Conferenza Episcopale Italiana; Federazione delle Chiese Evangeliche in Italia; Unione Buddhista Italiana.

On 25 June 2026, the leaders of the religious communities in Italy will sign a pact to ensure the continuity and future of the work carried out, while at the same time formalising the initiative known as “The Italian Way of Dialogue. Religions in the Public Sphere and for Social Cohesion”. The signing of the Pact, scheduled to take place in Rome at the Ara Pacis Auditorium, marks a key milestone in the journey undertaken as part of the Synodal path of the Churches in Italy. Since 2023, in fact, the leaders of the major religions in the country have met annually at the headquarters of the Italian Episcopal Conference, initiating a joint reflection on the need to be, in the public sphere, a resource capable of fostering dialogue, communion and peace. In 2024, a number of young people, delegated by the leaders of these religions, also began meeting regularly to discuss and work together; since last year, they have been taking part in the official meetings and have become local ambassadors for processes of mutual understanding and awareness-raising.

The process of dialogue between the leaders has led to the signing of the Pact. It will be signed by: the Italian Soka Gakkai Buddhist Institute; the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Italy; the Sikhi Sewa Society; the Tevere Institute; the Italian Islamic Confederation; the Italian Islamic Religious Community; the Assembly of Rabbis of Italy; the Holy Orthodox Archdiocese of Italy; the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy; the Union of Islamic Communities of Italy; the Italian Hindu Union; the Union of Italian Jewish Communities; the Italian Episcopal Conference; the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy; and the Italian Buddhist Union.
