Sono rimasti con noi dal 24-30 ottobre 2022, i pp. Mario Carmelo Mula e Javier Peguero Pérez. Insieme a loro abbiamo fatto prima una verifica del cammino percorso come comunità saveriana e poi abbiamo riflettuto sul tema del futuro capitolo: “Amare la nostra vocazione saveriana”.  Domenica 30 ottobre, in occasione della festa degli Amici e Benefattori della casa di Vicenza, p. Mario Carmelo Mula ha presieduto l’Eucaristia. Prima del buffet, sono stati proiettati alcuni brevi filmati sulla vita saveriana e sul venerabile Pietro Uccelli, in occasione dell’anniversario della sua morte (29.10.1954).  Durante la loro permanenza tra di noi, i confratelli della DG hanno avuto l’occasione di visitare la splendida Chiesa Ortodossa Romena, nel vecchio teatro dell’edificio che ha ospitato per lunghi decenni le nostre Scuole Medie. Il responsabile della Chiesa, p. Roman Ionascu, insieme a sua moglie, ha accolto l’invito di pranzare con la nostra comunità. 

Non è mancata la tradizionale novena alla festa del 5 novembre, come suggerita nel libretto Preghiera Saveriana. Sabato 5 novembre ci siamo raccolti in ritiro nella cappella dove insieme abbiamo meditato la Lettera Testamento, con l’aiuto degli undici brevi filmati, realizzati in occasione del Giubileo Saveriano (2021). Alle ore undici abbiamo celebrato l’Eucaristia presieduta da p. Gianni Viola. 

L’economo, p. Antonio Ugalde Barrón, come in altre ricorrenze, si è distinto per la qualità e l’abbondanza delle pietanze.

Alla festa hanno partecipato anche p. Paolo Gallo, missionario in Brasile, e Silvana Ulian (con suo marito) - sorella del nostro confratello p. Angelo Ulian. (Giuseppe Dovigo sx)

Fr. Mario Carmelo Mula and Fr. Javier Peguero Pérez remained with us from October 24^th to 30^th, 2022. With them, we first made an evaluation of our journey as Xaverian community, then reflected on the theme of the forthcoming chapter: Loving Our Xaverian Vocation. On Sunday, October 30^th, feast of the Friends and Benefactors of the house in Vicenza, Fr. Mario Carmelo Mula presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Before sharing the buffet, some brief films about Xaverian life and the venerable Pietro Uccelli, on the anniversary of his death (October 29^th, 1954), were screened. While they remained among us, the confreres from the General Direction had the chance to visit the splendid Romanian Orthodox Church located in the building of the former theatre which for decades housed our middle schools. Fr. Roman Ionascu, who is in charge of the Church, together with his wife, accepted our invitation to have lunch with our community.

As usual, we made the traditional November 5^th Novena in the form suggested by the booklet Xaverian Prayer. On Saturday, November 5^th, we gather for a retreat in the chapel. We meditated together on the Testament Letter with the help of eleven short films shot during the Xaverian Jubilee (2021). At 11:00 we celebrated Mass, which was presided over by Fr. Gianni Viola.

Our treasurer, Fr. Antonio Ugalde Barrón, as in other celebrations, was notable for the quality and abundance of the dishes he served at lunch.

Also Fr. Paolo Gallo, missionary in Brazil, and Silvana Ulian (with her husband), sister of our confrere Fr. Angelo Ulian, participated in our celebration. (Giuseppe Dovigo s.x.)
