Domenica 17 settembre 2023, abbiamo finalmente ripreso, dopo quattro anni di interruzione a causa del Covid, la festa annuale dei genitori e parenti, da tutti tanto vivamente desiderata. Una giornata bella, anche per il clima mite e soleggiato. Siamo stati accolti da un buon caffè e dalla ripresa di un piacevole vocio di conversazioni tra i parenti stessi che da tempo non si vedevano. Dopo alcune brevi parole di benvenuto a tutti, giustificando l’assenza forzata del rettore, p. Carlo Di Sopra, a causa del Covid, ha preso la parola p. Edi sx il quale ha condiviso, anche con materiale audiovisivo, alcune testimonianze dei missionari Saveriani a Taiwan e nella Cina continentale. Ha fatto seguito la presentazione del video portale Saveriano, un tentativo attualizzato per presentare il carisma Saveriano a quanti vengono a trovarci e a visitarci in casa (Udine). Nella celebrazione Eucaristia, p. Martino sx ha condiviso con semplicità e profondità la “storia” e la testimonianza del lavoro dei Saveriani, oggi, in Cina.

È seguito il pranzo, introdotto dalle note allegre della fisarmonica suonata dal cognato di Fratel Alessandro Feruglio sx. Il momento del pranzo è stato un prolungamento gradevole di cordiali conversazioni. Non è mancato il canto delle Vilotis Furlanis. (Lorenzo Mattiussi sx).

On Sunday, September 17^th, 2023, after a four-year interruption due to the Covid pandemic, we have finally resumed the yearly parents and relatives’ day, so greatly desired by all. It was a beautiful day, also because of the sun and the warm temperature. We began with a good cup of coffee and the pleasant chatter between relatives who had not seen each other for quite some time. After a short speech of welcome – which justified the forced absence of the rector, Fr. Carlo Di Sopra, due to Covid – Fr. Edi, with the help of audio-visual material, shared some experiences of the Xaverian missionaries in Taiwan and China mainland. Subsequently, the Xaverian portal video, created as an attempt to introduce in a updated fashion the Xaverian charism to those who come to visit us and our house (Udine), was presented.

During the Eucharistic celebration, in simplicity but with depth, Fr. Martino shared the “history” and witness of the work of the Xaverians today in China.

A lunch followed, introduced by the cheerful notes of the accordion played by the brother-in-law of Br. Alessandro Feruglio s.x. Lunch was a pleasing prolongation of warm conversations. Obviously, we could not miss singing some Vilotis Furlanis. (Lorenzo Mattiussi s.x.)
