In occasione dell’Anno Giubilare per il 100º anniversario della Lettera Testamento, la Direzione Generale ha proposto molteplici iniziative, tra cui la realizzazione di un commento a questo testo confortiano definito dal Fondatore stesso come “il testamento del padre” (LT n. 10).

Questo commento – intitolato “Il testamento di san Guido Maria Conforti. Una scuola di spiritualità missionaria” – è diviso in due parti. La Prima Parte accoglie un commento alla Lettera Testamento – numero dopo numero – fatto da p. Alfiero Ceresoli sx, già postulatore per la causa di beatificazione di Mons. Conforti. Il testo è molto ricco in suggerimenti e spunti per la riflessione, la condivisione e la preghiera. Nella Seconda Parte, troviamo la riflessione sulla Lettera Testamento fatta da quattro Superiori Generali: quella dei primi tre – Mons. Gianni Gazza sx e i pp. Gabriele Ferrari sx (aggiornata per questa occasione) e Francesco Marini sx– in occasione del 75º anniversario della sua redazione; quella invece fatta da p. Fernando García Rodríguez sx in occasione del 100º anniversario. 

Si tratta di un’opera che può essere utilizzata molto liberamente, sia a livello personale come comunitario. È anche un ottimo sussidio per i formatori per spiegare ai giovani confratelli in formazione il ricco contenuto del “testamento del padre”.

Il Testamento di San Guido Maria Conforti

As part of the Jubilee Year celebrations for the 100^th anniversary of the Testament Letter, the General Direction has proposed many initiatives. One of them is the editing of a commentary on this Confortian text, which the Founder himself called “the father’s last will” (TL 10).

The commentary, titled Il testamento di san Guido Maria Conforti. Una scuola di spiritualità missionaria (St Guido Maria Conforti’s Testament. A School of Missionary Spirituality), is divided in two parts. The first part contains a commentary to each number of the Testament Letter and is written by Fr. Alfiero Ceresoli s.x., former postulator for the beatification of Mons. Conforti. His text offers rich suggestions and much food for thought, as well as motives for common sharing and prayer. In the second part, one finds reflections on the Testament Letter written by four Superior Generals: the first three reflections – by Mons. Gianni Gazza s.x., Fr. Gabriele Ferrari s.x. (reviewed for this occasion) and Fr. Francesco Marini s.x. – were published on the occasion of the 75^th anniversary of the letter’s publication, while the last by Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez s.x. was prepared for the 100^th anniversary.

This commentary can be used very freely, either personally or at the community level. It can also help formators introduce the rich content of “the father’s last will” to young confreres in initial formation.
