La diocesi di Zheng Zhou (Dioecesis Cemceuvensis) è suffraganea dell'arcidiocesi di Kai Feng. Nel 1950 contava 20.514 battezzati su 4.000.000 di abitanti. Sede vacante dal 1983: Luigi Calza, S.X. † (21 giugno 1906 - 22 ottobre 1944 deceduto); Faustino M. Tissot, S.X. † (10 maggio 1946 - 1983 ritirato). Dalla ripresa della vita ecclesiastica iniziata alla fine degli anni '70, la diocesi di Zheng Zhou non aveva vescovi, ma solo amministratori diocesani.

L’elezione del nuovo vescovo avviene all’interno del quadro dell'Accordo Provvisorio tra la Santa Sede e la Repubblica Popolare Cinese.
