Il 1° settembre 2019, alle ore 10:50, è morto all’ospedale di Parma P. Giuseppe Marzarotto. Aveva compiuto da poco 84 anni, essendo nato a Villaverla (Vicenza – Italia) il 04.08.1935.
Infervorato dai discorsi di p. Rabito, nel 1948 il giovane Giuseppe entra tra i Missionari Saveriani “per portare Gesù a chi non lo conosce, per salvarli” (Articolo MS aprile 2014). Dopo aver frequentato i tre anni di Scuola Media inferiore a Vicenza, Giuseppe continua gli studi ginnasiali nella casa di Zelarino.
Nel 1954 Giuseppe va a San Pietro in Vincoli per frequentare l’anno di noviziato, alla fine del quale emette la Prima Professione religiosa-missionaria (12.09.1955). In seguito Giuseppe continua la formazione con gli studi liceali (a Desio 1955–1959) e teologici (a Parma 1959–1964).
Padre Marzarotto viene ordinato prete a Parma il 13.10.1963. Dopo la conclusione degli studi teologici, p. Giuseppe viene destinato alla scuola apostolica di Vicenza come insegnante e promotore vocazionale (1964–1966); in seguito viene destinato a Macomer come promotore vocazionale (1966–1969).
Nel 1970 p. Giuseppe viene destinato all’Indonesia. Dopo un anno di studio della lingua a Padang, viene destinato come Vice parroco prima a Indragiri (1971–1973) e, poi, a Air Molek (1973–1975). Dopo un anno di riposo-aggiornamento in Italia, p. Giuseppe viene destinato a Kayu Aro come parroco (1976–1980). Dopo un periodo di riposo-aggiornamento in Italia, va a Jakarta come Vice parroco (1981–1986).
Nel febbraio del 1987 p. Giuseppe viene destinato alla circoscrizione dell’Italia dove svolge il servizio di animatore missionario dapprima a Cagliari (1987–1992) e, poi, a Macomer (1992–1996). In seguito passa alla comunità di Genova–Pegli (1996–2005) come animatore missionario ed economo, per tornare ancora in Sardegna nel ruolo di animatore missionario a Cagliari (2005–2006), a Macomer (2006–2015) e ancora a Cagliari (2015–2018).
A causa di problemi di salute, alla fine del 2018 p. Marzarotto viene destinato alla Casa Madre di Parma. Qui, il 1° settembre 2019 termina il suo pellegrinaggio terreno e viene ammesso a contemplare la Gloria dell’Altissimo.

Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto passed away on September 1, 2019, at 10:50 AM at the Parma Hospital. Born on the 4th of August 1935 in the town of Villaverla (Vicenza – Italy), Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was now 84 years old.
Enthused by the words and accounts of Fr. Rabito, young Joseph entered in the Seminary of the Xaverians in the city of Vicenza “to announce Jesus to those who yet did not know Him”. (Reported in Missionari Saveriani Newspaper – April 2014). At the end of his High School years in Vicenza and Zelarino (Venice), Joseph went to San Pietro in Vincoli for his Novitiate Year. On September 12, 1955, Giuseppe Marzarotto celebrated his First Religious Profession. Then he transferred to Desio (1955–1959) for College, and to Parma (1959–1964) for his Theological Studies and final mission education and preparation.
Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was ordained Priest in the city of Parma on October 13th, 1963. Having concluded his Theological and Ministerial preparation, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was assigned to ministry and service to the Xaverian Community of Vicenza.
He was involved in teaching and in the ministry of Vocation Education and Discernment (1964–966). Then a new assignment arrived and Giuseppe Marzarotto transferred to the city of Macomer (Sardinia) to continue his ministry of Vocation Education and Discernement (1966–1969).
His assignment to Indonesia arrived in 1970. After learning the local language for one year, Fr. Giuseppe was appointed Assistant Parish Priest in the town of Indragiri (1971–1973), then at Air Molek (1973–1975). Then Fr. Marzarotto returned to Italy for a year of rest and ongoing formation. As he returned to Indonesia, he was appointed Parish Priest of the Parish of Kayu Aro (1976–1980). After a bit of rest in Italy, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto, was assigned as Assistant Parish Priest in the city of Jakarta (198–1986).
In the month of February 1987, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was re-assigned to Italy to minister in the area of mission Education, first, in the city of Cagliari (1987– 1992) and, then, at Macomer (1992–1996). In the years 1996–2005, as minister of mission education and procurator, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was assigned to the area of Genova–Pegli, to return again to minister in mission education at Cagliari (2005–2006), at Macomer (2006–2015), and then again at Cagliari (2015–2018).
Due to health problems, at the end of 2018, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto was assigned to the Mother House in Parma. There, on September 1st, 2019, Fr. Giuseppe Marzarotto ended his earthly pilgrimage and was admitted to contemplate and share in the Glory of the Almighty Heavenly Father.
