1901-28 maggio: nasce a Transacqua da Cristoforo e Debertolis Margherita.
1922-14 aprile: entra a Parma tra i Saveriani, accoltovi dallo stesso Fondatore.
1923-26 aprile: emette la Professione Missionaria come Religioso Saveriano.
1926-13 maggio: è ordinato Sacerdote nella Cappella Martiri dell'Istituto per le mani di S.E. Mons. Conforti.
1926-25 giugno: nella stessa Cappella Martiri riceve il Crocifisso assieme al P. Eugenio Pelerzi e parte per la Cina, ove fu missionario a Hsuchow, a Kia-hsien, a Hiang-tien, a Cheng-Chow, a Loyang, a Yenshih.
1933-maggio: è nominato Maestro dei Novizi; rientra in Italia ed inizia il nuovo compito nella sede di S. Pietro in Vincoli (Ravenna) appena aperta.
1937-ottobre: si porta a Parma, perché eletto Sostituto Generale e Rettore in Casa Madre. In questi anni si dedica interamente alla Causa di Canonizzazione del Fondatore ed avvia il Processo Informativo.
1944-1946: subentra come Superiore Generale dei Saveriani al dimissionario P. Amatore Dagnino.
1946-10 maggio: è nominato Vescovo residenziale di Cheng-Chow, succedendo al defunto Mons. Luigi Calza
(27.10.44). Viene consacrato a Parma da Mons. Evasio Colli il 23 giugno, ripartendo per la Cina in dicembre e prendendo possesso della diocesi il 2 febbraio 1947. L'occupazione comunista della città (ott. '48) avviò un calvario per la intera Diocesi, conclusosi con l'arresto/processo/espulsione di tutti i missionari e del Vescovo Tissot, il 12 novembre 1953.
1956-1960: risiedendo a Roma, svolge il compito di Segretario internazionale della Unione Missionaria del Clero.
1962-1974: lavora presso la Congregazione dei Seminari e nella Segnatura Apostolica.
1974-1980: segue maggiormente le vicende dell'Istituto, collaborando nella Segreteria Generale e ricercando presso le Congregazioni Romane documenti importanti relativi alla Causa di Canonizzazione del Fondatore dei Saveriani.
1971-15 maggio: in occasione del Giubileo Episcopale riceve un commosso messaggio da Papa Paolo VI che si felicita con lui per la coraggiosa testimonianza di successore degli Apostoli nella tormentata Cina ed ora nell'esilio forzato, lontano dal gregge affidatogli dal Signore.
1980-Si trasferisce in Casa Madre dei Saveriani a Parma, passando le giornate leggendo, pregando, accogliendo quanti lo andavano a visitare e testimoniando in serenità e silenzio l'interiore martirio di Vescovo esiliato.
1991-19 agosto: nella mattinata, colpito da ictus cerebrale ritornò alla Casa del Padre, morendo all'età veneranda di 90 anni, raggiungendo il "Pastore dei Pastori" che l'aveva chiamato al ministero episcopale in Cina.

Bishop of Cheng-Chow
Msgr. Faustino Tissot died at the Mother House in Parma on Aug. 19 1991, from cerebral aneurysm. He was 90 years old, born at Transacqua (Trento) on May 28 1901.
He entered the Xaverians at Parma on Apr. 14 1922, welcomed by the Founder. After the year of Novitiate, he professed religious mission vows in the Xaverian family on Apr. 26 1923. He was ordained priest by Bishop Conforti in the Chapel of the Martyrs of the Mother House on May 13 1926.
Three months later, he received the mission Crucifix in the same chapel by our Founder, in a mission departure ceremony together with Fr. Eugenio Pelerzi. He departed for China, where he served as a missionary at Hsuchow, at Kia-hsien, at Hiang-tien, at Cheng-chow, at Loyang, and at Yenshih.
Named Novice Master in May 1933, Fr. Tissot returned to Italy and for 4 years he runs the Novitiate at S. Pietro in Vincoli. Then, in October 1937 he is elected Vicar General and Rector of the Mother House. During this time, he also starts the process of gathering information on the Founder for the Cause of Canonization.
He serves as Superior General (Substitute) from 1944 to 1946, following the resignation of Fr. Amatore Dagnino. On May 19 1946 he is named Bishop of Cheng-chow, following Msgr. Calza (who died on Oct. 27 1944). Msgr. Tissot is consecrated Bishop by Msgr. Evasio Colli on June 23 1946, and departs for China in December of that year. He enters the diocese of Cheng-chow on Feb. 2 1947. Unfortunately the communist occupation started creating havoc from Oct. 1948 onward, which caused house arrest, imprisonment and expulsion of all the missionaries present. Bishop Tissot is expelled on Nov. 12 1953.
Msgr. Tissot’s first assignment in Italy is with the Missionary Union of the Clergy for about four years (1956-60); then he works at the Congregation of the Seminaries and the Apostolic Insignature (1962-74). The following years he works with the General Secretary of the Xaverians, collecting information and documents on our Founder.
On the occasion of his 25th Episcopal Jubilee, May 15 1971, Msgr. Tissot rejoices with emotion for receiving a message from Pope Paul VI who commends him for his courageous witness of successor of the Apostles in the tormented land of China, and now experiencing a forced exile, far away from the flock the Lord entrusted him with.
In 1980, Msgr. Tissot moves to the Mother House where he spent the rest of his life in contemplation, reading, prayer, personal silence, and visiting with many people. In the morning of Aug. 19 1991, he suffers a cerebral ictus, which brought him to his death. May he enjoy eternally the “Shepherd of all shepherds” in the eternal Reign.
