Condividiamo con tutti i saveriani il Documento Finale della Conferenza Intercapitolare dei Superiori Maggiori (COSUMA) 2021, che si è svolta a Tavernerio dal 27 settembre al 10 ottobre 2021. Circa questa importante assemblea, le nostre Costituzioni al n. 108 dicono:
“L’incontro formale in assemblea dei Regionali con il Superiore Generale e il suo Consiglio, costituisce la Conferenza dei Superiori. Essa fa il punto sulla situazione della Congregazione e sulla attuazione delle delibere capitolari e studia i problemi più urgenti e importanti. Ha natura e funzione consultiva”.
Il titolo del documento – che pubblichiamo in italiano, inglese, spagnolo e francese – riflette il tema che ha guidato l’intera assemblea dei Superiori Maggiori: “L’ Ad Gentes come sfida e impegno identitario del saveriano”. Sono riflessioni e proposte che partono da una breve descrizione del momento presente della Congregazione, affrontano le principali tematiche della vita saveriana – incluso economia e governo – e terminano con lo sguardo rivolto alla preparazione del XVIII Capitolo Generale (estate 2023).
Speriamo che questo documento, pur nella sua semplicità, ci aiuti a guardare al futuro con speranza, sentendoci parte di un grande progetto comune, iniziato con san Guido M. Conforti. Chiediamo che sia oggetto di riflessione personale e comunitaria e soprattutto occasione di preghiera.
We share with all Xaverians the Final Document of the Intercapitular Conference of Major Superiors (COSUMA) 2021, which took place in Tavernerio, from 27 September to 10 October 2021. Regarding this important assembly, our Constitutions in n. 108 say:
"The formal meeting in assembly of the Regionals with the Superior General and his Council constitutes the Conference of Superiors. It takes stock of the situation of the Congregation and the implementation of chapter resolutions and studies the most urgent and important problems. It has a consultative nature and function".
The title of the document - which we are publishing in Italian, English, Spanish and French - reflects the theme that guided the entire assembly of Xaverian Major Superiors: "Ad Gentes as a challenge and identity commitment of the Xaverians". These are reflections and proposals that begin with a brief description of the present moment of the Congregation, address the main fields of Xaverian life - including economy and governance - and end with a look towards the preparation of the 18th General Chapter (summer 2023).
We hope that this document, even in its simplicity, will help us to look to the future with hope, feeling that we are part of a great common project that began with St. Guido M. Conforti. We ask that it be the object of personal and community reflection and above all an occasion for prayer.
