“Riassumo in tre verbi quello che abbiamo fatto in questi giorni: ascoltare, discernere e condividere nel nostro camminare insieme, come pastori delle Chiese particolari che peregrinano in Amazzonia. Abbiamo ascoltato “il grido della terra e il grido dei poveri”, abbiamo condiviso ciò che lo Spirito santo ci ha comunicato. Ci sentiamo incoraggiati ad annunciare il Vangelo con rinnovato vigore e a rispondere, in modo adeguato, alle grandi sfide socio-pastorali che si presentano a noi nel bioma amazzonico”  ha detto  il presidente della Conferenza Ecclesiale dell’Amazzonia (Ceama) nell’omelia della messa celebrata il 20 agosto 2025, nella cattedrale di Bogotá, a conclusione del primo incontro dei vescovi della “Querida Amazonía” convocati in Colombia dalla stessa Ceama.

“I summarise what we have done in recent days in three verbs: listening, discerning and sharing in our journey together, as shepherds of the particular Churches that pilgrimage in the Amazon. We have listened to “the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor”, we have shared what the Holy Spirit has communicated to us. We feel encouraged to proclaim the Gospel with renewed vigour and to respond appropriately to the great socio-pastoral challenges that face us in the Amazon biome," said the president of the Ecclesial Conference of the Amazon (CEAMA) in his homily during Mass celebrated on 20 August 2025 in Bogotá Cathedral, at the conclusion of the first meeting of the bishops of ‘Querida Amazonía’ convened in Colombia by CEAMA itself.
