iSaveriani n. 135: SPECIALE BEATIFICAZIONE MARTIRI

Domenica 29 dicembre 2024 è stato caricato sul Sito Web della Direzione Generale iSaveriani n.135. Introducendo il numero Speciale Beatificazione Martiri, il Superiore Generale, p. Fernando García Rodríguez, cita la frase che San Paolo VI disse al vescovo di Uvira, Mgr Danilo Catarzi sx, in visita a Roma il 18 novembre 1966. Il vescovo di Uvira aveva appena parlato col papa dell'uccisione di Vittorio, Luigi, Giovanni e Albert a Baraka e Fizi, e il papa replicò: "Sono i vostri martiri. Raccoglietene le memorie, veneratene le reliquie".
Il numero speciale di iSaveriani 135 nasce dal desiderio di raccogliere la memoria di questi martiri a partire dalla bellezza del dono della loro beatificazione.
P. Fernando presenta il contenuto delle 5 parti del Quaderno: 1) Decreti; 2) Omelie e Discorsi durante la celebrazione della Beatificazione; 3) Ringraziamento a Parma e Vicenza; 4) Rassegna Stampa; e 5) Testi dei martiri e commenti odierni.
Ripercorrere questi documenti, discorsi, testimonianze e meditazioni ci può aiutare ad approfondire l'esempio e l'attualità dei nuovi beati nella diversità dei contesti in cui la missione ci incontra ed interpella oggi. (Faustino Turco sx)

iSaveriani n. 135: SPECIAL ON THE MARTYRS’ BEATIFICATION
On Sunday, December 29th, 2024, issue No. 135 of iSaveriani was uploaded on the General Direction’s website. In the introduction to this Special on the Martyrs’ Beatification, General Superior, Fr. Fernando García Rodríguez, quotes the words of St Paul VI to the Bishop of Uvira, Msgr. Danilo Catarzi s.x., during the latter’s visit to Rome on November 18th, 1966. The Bishop of Uvira had just talked to the Pope about the murder of Vittorio, Luigi, Giovanni and Albert in Baraka and Fizi. In answer, the pope remarked: “These are your martyrs. Gather their memories, venerate their relics.”
The special issue No. 135 of iSaveriani is meant to gather the memories of these martyrs, starting from the beautiful gift of their beatification.
Fr. Fernando introduces the content of the five parts of this Quaderno: 1) Decrees; 2) Homilies and Speeches during the celebration of the beatification; 3) Thanksgiving in Parma and Vicenza; 4) Press Reviews; and 5) Texts by the martyrs and today’s comments.
Reviewing these documents, speeches, witnesses and meditations can help us deepen our appreciation of these new Blessed ones’ example and timeliness in the variety of contexts where mission meets and engages us today. (Faustino Turco s.x.)
